It would be nice to see a new scare zone elsewhere on park to replace Burial Grounds, but I expect an empty hospitality suite where they can charge guests for a new experience may be all too hard to resist.Presumably Daz Games and Burial Grounds are scrapped, with only one being replaced?

Scarefest 2025
The Scarefest marketing has begun:
- Two brand new scare experiences (one being the DF maze)
- The Return of Altonville Mine Tours for its 10th year.
- Another returning scare maze (likely to be Compound)
And for families:
- Scarefest characters in the Courtyard arena.
- The CBeebies Land Monster Ball.
- Amigos in the Afterlife
- Trick O’ Treat Town with Haribo & Maoam.
- The Alton Ancestors
So would I be right in thinking Daz Games and The Attic are getting replaced? Likely with the attic not replaced in situ and something new on the Daz Games location.
And it looks as though Burial Grounds has been cut? Along with the stage shows.
When you look at overall investment for this year, it’s pretty nominal. I assume the daz games deal with Conductr was maybe a 2 year thing, I could see that tech showing up at another Merlin Park in some form.
Really hope the next couple of years they fit two more container spaces around the park so they have 4 to work with moving forward. Almost as if they are mini “soundstages” they can treat as blank canvasses every year if needed.
If they planned properly they should use the hospitality suite for hospitality, like they do for fireworks. With food, character meet and greets and some other bits and pieces.
An uninspired line up, but given what else has gone on this year I’m not surprised.

Pretty sure it's more likely that the new maze will be in the building near Dark Forest. Maybe they'll use the hospitality suite for a VIP thing like they do for Fireworks.

Ok so last year they had
2024:
The attic
Compound
AMT
Daz Games
Burial Grounds
Stage shows
2025:
New Dark Forest Maze
AMT
Compound
Outstanding Alton.
And you want me to pay the same or more for this?

Hopefully there’s more news coming…
How is it uninspired we are getting a new maze replacing Attix, as for Daz Games how many people actually loved it they are doing what we asked for.So would I be right in thinking Daz Games and The Attic are getting replaced? 2 New Attractions can't really complain. Especially when it's still better than what we had in 2022

Text on the website states
"Take a returning fan favourite, more terrifying than ever! And prepare for two all-new scare experiences for 2025, dare to enter… if you think you can escape."
But the booking states
"Altonville Mine Tours: Tiny's Revenge, 1 returning favourite, New Scare Maze for 2025"
So sounds like there will be a new free scare experience and a new paid-for scare maze.
Shows are returning, they will just be in the Courtyard not the lawns. So yes likely smaller but still shows with the Scarefest characters.
I am glad they removed the stage from the lawns better view of the TowersDo we know with certainty that a scare zone isn't returning?

Perhaps we’ll finally get to know why they butchered Ug Land.It might just be me, but the end of that promo seems to be seriously suggesting we're getting something based around the backstory of Thirteen and Dark Forest.

The Burial Grounds promo image is on the website when you look through it all, and they also left it in situ all year. They could be waiting to formally announce it alongside the other scarezone … would help with understanding if the public can identify what the equivalent to the new thing is

Surveys done by AT have indicated the vast majority of people go for the night rides.I’m sure the new maze will be pretty decent, however Scarefest now is basically ‘normal season Alton Towers but you can pay for a scare or two’. The main/only appeal is the night rides.
They giveth with one hand, and taketh away with the other.
But also its been that way for around ten years I think where the high-scares are paid for mazes. This is due to a combination of things. The mazes being low capacity so when they were free the queue was hours long. Free flow scare zones across major walkways meant that people who just tried to cross the area to another attraction got a scare they didn't want and scare zones in remote places (like Haunted Hollow) resulted in staff being assaulted. Also they have pretty much always only offered a mix of family shows and scare mazes. Main change is adding the paid-for family attractions

Certainly seems that way with the shot of thirteens station at the end

Fair point, when you click on the combi-ticket bundle on the website there are several stills from burial grounds; I’d find it bizarre to advertise an attraction that isn’t coming back. Hopefully the new attraction is an additional scare zone. It’s a possibility that the “new” experience is just a redo of burial grounds like they did with Tiny’s Revenge: new name, some new costumes and bam you’ve got a brand new attraction! The Burial Grounds promo image is on the website when you look through it all, and they also left it in situ all year. As normal the marketing and what’s for sale ticket wise feels a bit all over the shop.
I wouldn’t be surprised at this point to see the new DF maze and Burial Grounds turned into a paid attraction as replacement for Daz Games and The Attic.
Wickerman is such a strong brand and given the entire thing is still there why not make more of it?

Unlikely as there are only three paid mazes listed on the combo ticket (Mine Tours, new maze and most likely Compound). As normal the marketing and what’s for sale ticket wise feels a bit all over the shop.

Also, currently all SF dates are listed as a 9pm close...

Fingers crossed it stays like that this time.

Interestingly, it is not just that a Burial Grounds image has been left on the Scarefest page, like an oversight. The main Burial Ground promo image has been used to replace one of the spots where they previously used The Attic. So that has been actively changed in the run-up to today's announcements.
Elsewhere, what I think is a previously unused promo image for Burial Grounds has also been added for the first time (as well as one that looks like Compound). Given, they are usually pretty good at rotating out of date images on the Scarefest pages, it suggests that Burial Grounds still has some life left in it.
In the same vein, not such good news for Daz Games fans (or should that be the Daz Games fan?) - the images that have been removed and replaced by other attractions are those related to The Attic and Daz Games. It's not an exact science, but it doesn't bode well, if Alton Towers are going out of their way to remove images related to specific attractions.
