2013 - Iron Rattler / Gunslinger - (5/30/13) A little mishap took place with the Iron Rattler at Six Flags Fiesta Texas on Wednesday afternoon. At some point during the day it seems that the ‘rattle’ decoration on the back of one of the trains fell off. The ride was closed down right away and maintenance staff were then seen removing the other rattle from the other train before they reopened the ride later in the day.
If this event sounds a little familiar, longtime coaster fanatics may recall that when Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point first opened the back of each train, in place of a last row of seats, featured a drag racer engine, fin and two giant tires. A few months later one of the tires was thrown from the ride, resulting in their removal from all the trains shortly after, followed by the removal of the rest of the themeing in place of adding another row of seats by the next season.
