Stargazing Pods

Indeed.

Let’s hope in a couple of years they flog these pods to the local camp site (where they belong) and finish the EV off probably with more lodges, Crooked Spoon expansion, entertainment area and separate check in building as per the original plan.
 
Is it not because the Enchanted Village expansion wouldn’t look great on paper for Varney to play up on results?

Everyone who’s stayed at the EV knows what it is so adding 100 more rooms wouldn’t necessarily bring to OMG new accommodation. Yet the pods are new and unknown so the first couple weeks will be sold out and every vlogger out there will be staying in them and it looks successful, Varney then ticks box and says they are that great we will roll them out elsewhere
 
The interior of these pods is quite simply awful and so uninspiring. There is no character and no attempt to make them slightly themed or have a touch of 'magic'.

I'm not too bothered though as I shall never be staying in one of them!

For me the proof of the pudding will be ultimately the price. If these things are £20-£30pp a night then you could argue a budget option is needed on resort. Beyond that you are paying to stay in a shed and queue for a toilet.

Regardless of the ultimate quality v price the fact remains there is not enough food and drink venues to support the number of guests currently and this is not going to help matters. When you factor in the park closes before people are thinking about dinner and that results in a lot of very angry guests, and it’s not like Towers trip advisor reviews are all that cracking to begin with.

There are number of resort theme parks who have been crippled by their accommodation side of the business not least Disney Paris who lets face it would have gone under years go if it wasn’t for the might of the mouse behind it. I just worry this might be an investment that puts too much pressure on the resort and goes down badly with the public.

As Rob states I won’t be paying to stay in this cheap rubbish, if they get their audience and manage to feed and water a full resort then fair play to them. Time will tell!
 
They're just very basic no frills places to settle for the night. However, they are nicely located if you're looking for a trip to the theme park the next day. If they were priced at £20-30 a night total (not per person) I think they'd be doing their jobs and you couldn't really complain about lack of facilities.

However, all this will fall apart when they release the prices which will inevitably be ridiculously high for what they are.

I can't see how they could get away with charging £30 per person per night.. Here are the prices for a stay in the ones at Brean. Note this is for 3 nights (2 adults) and includes entertainment passes.



might also be worth noting the availability ;) . I think they only have about 6 of these pods. Although of course Towers appeal and marketing will be much better than Unity Farms :p

I wouldn't pay £20 a night to stay in there. Looks awful, I would rather sleep in my car! Can you imagine these things during the hot summer months? The lodge we had in EV last month was bad enough, these will be like those tin cans they used to lock POW's in during the war until they pass out. As for cleaning them, well, AT cannot clean their existing hotel rooms at the moment, these things with lack of space to move inside them (or clean) will be stinking dirty in no time.
 
I could honestly expect these to cost about £120 a night in all honesty. Especially if they include park entry with the stay.

As far as I’m aware, there’s very few, if not none at all, ATR accommodation options that include park tickets.
 
Why didn’t they just open that space up for camping where you can bring your own tent. I saw the stargazing pods and I agree they do not look great. But I imagine merlin will slap an extortionate price on them
 
It won't/can't be cheap because there would be some insane backlash from local B&Bs...

Buggered no matter which way they go really...
 
To be honest, in Alton, a lot of local B&Bs have gone out of business. So I can't imagine there being much backlash.

All accommodation is scalable based on popularity, I’m saying at no point should the price exceed £20pp even during high demand.

If ATH is £20pp then the garden sheds should be £5
 
I've heard that these will be these sheds will be priced at between £80-120 per night. If that's true, there isn't enough breath to conjour a hearty laugh. Even MattN can't muster any praise for that, but I'm sure he will.
 
Anything more than £40 is too much. But I’d rather stay in a travelodge hotel with all the facilities at that price point.

I’m sure people will pay £120 and then when they realise the size, how basic they are inside and that they have to run across the field to go to the toilet, they will rant about it.
 
I would have preferred some youth hostel style accommodation instead, at least then you don't have to go outside to use the toilet.

I would much rather stay somewhere else and take a taxi in, or if I was on my own take the bus.

Do overnight guests get free access to the water park?
