Strange Roller Coasters

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuCQ8dnbVzA

Opened last month in Japan, would you believe.

Clearly a bright-spark in park management wanted a modern family coaster like Severn Dwarves Mine Train or Verbolten or something but on their way to a proper manufacturer's office, got waylaid by representatives from Hoei Sangyo Co., Ltd. who convinced them to build this.

The power of the two launches is ostensibly decided by how loud the rider's scream, apparently.

What the heck are they?!

That coaster is a real wtf? And that fairground ride with the suspended bumper cars reminds me of "X" ;D

OK, so that's a coaster with 2 launches, a chain lift and 3 tyre driven lifts - what were they thinking?

I think "Superheroes" has been posted in the Strange Rides topic before.

That Japanese one though... Proof once again that no country has stranger tastes.

Can you find an alternative link for that last one Nemesis1994? I tried to load the current one, but got offended before getting to the bottom.

How many of you know about this Schwarzkopf - Big Roller Coaster - at Russia's Wonder Island park?

Gold paint!

The only ride footage I can find:

It's one of the last Schwarzkopf coasters to be made, if not *the* last. Interestingly it has the same track, trains, and brakes used on Venus GP at Space World, Japan. Even more interestingly, that coaster was made by Maurer Sohne, who were originally part of a company called BHS, who fabricated Olympia Looping. It's all a bit cross-breedy really.
