Police called to suspicious item at Newbury train station to find 'box of fried chicken'

REPORTS of a 'suspicious item' at a train station this morning turned out to be a box of fried chicken.

British Transport Police officers were called to Newbury Train Station this morning following reports of a 'suspicious item'.

A security alert was triggered and trains were cancelled whilst investigations were carried out.

BTP confirmed that the 'suspicious item' turned out to be fried chicken which had been 'placed on a bench'.

The surrealist thing about this is it made it to a news report at all. This sort of thing happens all the time, like multiple times a day. Better safe than sorry!
 
“Marvels and Meltdowns.” Yeah, get ******, *****. I’ve had two meltdowns so far this year (not had any for a while beforehand), and they’ve not been pleasant. I somehow don’t think drawing attention to them BY THE NAME OF YOUR ******** ORGANISATION is a good idea AT ALL.

Ah yes, fave weird topic...pica.
Used to eat the corner of the newspaper as I was reading it as a kid.
Chalk, coal and soil are quite common nibbles for the afflicted.
Edit... Xylophagia! Same as the pencil end chewers.
