The Alton Towers Music, Video and Other Multimedia Thread

I won't lie, Ian Habgoods music is really growing on me even more in recent times. I'll always love Graham Smart music, but Ians are a close 2nd now personally. Wish he'd come back to do more music for Theme Parks. He is still active.

I remember it being common for patient enough individuals to sit in front of speakers and record a whole soundtrack. Something I haven't seen anyone do in a long time. We've been blessed with IMA Score soundtrack releases over the last few years (even if they are not the full versions).

Many years ago, when we were all at TTF, someone who worked for Merlin leaked a massive amount of audio from Alton Towers, including area music, ride soundtracks, PA system announcements, and even shelved audio that never got used in the park. I've got a hard drive hidden somewhere with a massive amount of audio on it, thanks to that mysterious member. If I remember correctly, the site team were asked to take the posts/threads down at the time by Merlin. It was a while ago, so my memory is a bit hazy. Not sure if the Oblivion audio was included in all that. I might go digging around for that hard drive and see what's on it.

ah the old speaker recording, someone did the whole TS I remember.

I remember back when only reride.net was basically the only source for HQ Alton Towers music, as i think it had rips of the Haunted House and Toyland tapes.

For some lore that has been lost to the annuls of time, anyone remember a rather frosty user called EDAT on ATA?, he had access to EVERY bit of audio at Alton. He sold 10 tracks of your choice for a 10er to be burnt on a CD, and i begged my dad to lend me the money. I must have been about 10 or 11 at the time.

Thats where we got the Towers Street Music HQ for the first time, I got the black hole music, and even some BH fx from its early iteration.

It wasnt until around 2008 when I managed to track down Graham Smart and have a lovely phone call with him and encourage him to release some more music online. But he's super elsuive to contact.

Fun fact about the Charlie Music..... I managed to find that all hidden on the composers website, so I leaked it to Towers Street ( or Towers Times I cant remember)

That's wicked!!! I never knew of this!! I do wish the parks would do stuff like this though, sell soundtracks of both defunct and still operating rides of your picking on a CD. I know they used to on the 5th Dimension back in the 80s. But this is really informative and nice to know!

Do you still have the sound effects for thr black hole? I'd love to hear them as I'm only familiar with the steam punk version after Oblivion was built.

Speaking of music, I've been trying to look for Bubbleworks individual music tracks for ages but I can only find them on YouTube all put together. Not even Graham Smarts Bandcamp has the music.

Re Bubbleworks - I seem to remember there being a cassette rip that used to float online that had all the tracks - annoyingly I don't think they were complete though? Same with Fifth Dimension. I have these files somewhere, but can't remember exactly where. They were common ~10yrs ago so there'll definitely be copies out there still.

There were also the ETPA ride mixes that sounded great - compiled a bunch of tracks with SFX for a "ride-thru" feel. Hopefully they'll reappear at some point.

I've got a Haunted House cassette from 1993 which includes the Bubbleworks Soundtracks on, excluding the station and office themes. I can probably look at ripping them if interested?.

Talking on Bubbleworks music, I have a few things. They’re probably all easily accessible, so I’m not sure if it’s any help.

I’ve saved a few tracks of it from this “Theme Park Music Looped” channel. They’re all pretty clean loops for what I have, except for the Star-Fizz one that kind of leaks into the Hic-cups one at times. However, to my knowledge, I’m missing the Funfair one, the Mexican one and that one with that lady singing.

That’s an interesting one that is. Would that whole scene be acceptable now? I don’t know, but what I do know is is that I do have it, it’s just locked in some thirty minute loop of all the tracks - I just haven’t been bothered to audacity it out.

The funfair one is annoying. It’s one of my favourite ones, but every version of it it just shy of complete. There’s a complete version of the Imperial Leather one, but no one wants that.

The most illusive is the Mexican one. I know it exists, but there’s almost nothing on it, bar some things of it on ETPA ride through of it.

I found a newer version floating around, it’s a loop of all the tracks, audio is proper clean too! It has some sound effects too, so this is probably a reupload of this ETPA ride through you have.

Also I have one more (to my knowledge); this audio ride-through of the ride. It’s timed up as if you where actually on it, and I dug it up from the files of this… admittedly crusty recreation of Transylvania made in the source engine. Gordon Freeman has been on Bubbleworks. I remember hearing somewhere that ETPA provided audio for it too. The audio is a bit… crunchy at times though.

All saved as mp3 for my listening pleasure, if anyone is interested by this probably redundant information.
