11 days left until Christmas (although it doesn't feel like that) and the battle for Christmas No 1 is hotting up
Who do you think will win?
LadBaby - Don't stop me eatin'
Justin Bieber & NHS choir - Holy
Mariah Carey - All I want for Christmas is you
    Or perhaps someone else?
The list I've put on the poll is from this BBC article:

I'm going to guess by your answer that you don't like LadBaby. Why?

I don't find it funny. Of course my post was a deliberate overreaction. The first year, fair enough, it was a novelty, and they support a good cause, but three years on the trot?

The Beatles did get four, but there was a gap of one year in (I think) 1967.

I hope Mariah Carey gets it, such a great song, hard to believe it didn't get to the top spot when released.

    You're being too nice.

I can't stand All I Want For Christmas Is You, especially Mariah Carey's version. Given it was sung very loudly on the bus to & from school throughout December by a girl who sounded like a mangled cat being stretched out like an accordion, I think my views are justified.

The worst thing about "All I want for Christmas" is that it's now in the Salvation Army carol books. If you see a Salvation Army band out and they are using the "Christmas Collection" books, feel free to ask for it. Most bands will refuse to play it though. Going back on topic, I am hoping for LadBaby to win three in a row partially because It's a charity thing and partially because the cover is a Queen parody.

Not that I've ever cared who becomes Christmas number one, but can I suggest "Merry Christmas, Baked Potato" by Matt Lucas. Very festive spin off of his equally bizzar "Thank You Baked Potato" lockdown song.

There’s a catchy song about Boris Johnson which is VERY NSFW.

Am I the only one that couldn't give two hoots to who becomes Xmas number one? I stop following the charts many moons ago.

LadBaby have just announced that a collab with Ronan Keating will be released tomorrow and because of the chart rules, sales of that will count towards the chart placing of the original.

I agree. My interest has only peaked since I've seen there is a song climbing the ranks about Boris Johnson being a something something. Currently number 2 on iTunes chart and number 5 on the main charts I believe.

How to get people to buy your new single
    I think they will win
(I also think the BBC are currently trying to work out what to do if that Boris song is on the charts - there is no way they will play it on radio 1 on Friday)

I suspect they probably will. 'The Boris Johnson song' (to be polite) is an amusing novelty, but the language in the title and the name of the artist (and every line of the song) probably make it harder to cut through.

There's a radio friendly version of the Boris song.

Whilst this may solve the swearing problem, they also have the problem that this song is blatantly a political stunt. In 2013 when Margaret Thatcher died, Ding Dong the witch is dead got to number 2, the BBC only played 7 seconds of it.
