Very interesting, thanks!
I love stuff like this. (Back when the London Dungeon left Tooley Street for the South Bank, I attempted to map out the old venue. It *might* still be here round here somewhere? Probably a dead image link though because it was back in the photobucket days. I have the original image somewhere no doubt...)
As someone who only did one run through of Compound, would it be cheeky of me to ask that if you do any further tweaks, could we get some labels please? I can't even work out where the starting "isolation pods" are. (That's not a critisism of your fine work, I just haven't memorised it like you have
)
Best I could say is, "we queued next to a short side of the tent, then walked along a long side n distance before entering somewhere in the middle.... Exit on the opposite long side, near the end we queued at".

Not me per say but part of the gang making a new railway extension for our wee railway in which you can see ballast is down and track laying can begin. No heavy machinery here just sheer brute force and a lot of sheer bloody mindlessness to lay track which honestly is very satisfying putting track down on a trackbed that was ripped up decades ago and is now being brought back to life and I'm wanting to share it with all of you and 2025 and 2026 will be quite a busy few years with our own major development becoming a larger tourist attraction in Fife.

Wy back in June, I cleared my workbench to give the space over to an expansion of my Lego town.
.... Then work suddenly picked up, which is good, because it meant I could stock up on bricks. But I had no time to build. Sure, I could work on small sub models here and there, but this last week is the first proper building time I've had in almost six months.
So I've been very busy.
The rides and buildings are not new, but all this landscaping was just tables and baseplates 7 days ago. I've moved the rides there from the far side of the layout,,,, that's the next place to start upgrading.

I still have loads more minifigs and little scenes to add. The ride layout along the prom on the right is temporary for now. Think I can squeeze in a few more trees around the Over the Top.
... So that's why I haven't been around much.

Is it me or do I spy an Intercity 225 and something Network South East related?Wy back in June, I cleared my workbench to give the space over to an expansion of my Lego town.

You do indeed (Quite why I have the DVT at that end while the loco is hidden behind buildings is a very good question).Is it me or do I spy an Intercity 225 and something Network South East related?![]()
The NSE "slam door" is the first custom train I made, almost a quarter century ago. Not based on any specific prototype, but loosely inspired by the 4CEP mk1 units I used to commute on.
The 225 is only a few years younger but a vast improvement on my skills. Naturally if I were to design it from scratch today with modern parts it would be very different.
I have several drawers filled with trains that I have no space for. Hell, I gave up having a functional circuit of track because it just takes up too much space. Better to have a more realistic "the track is just passing through" set up. The day I removed the full loop of track round the outside, I gained 1/3 extra room!
One of the projects on my list is to upgrade the track infrastructure, accurate signals, add some OHLE, and NSE style platform furniture. Still just a CAD concept atm. I really should do it ASAP though, as the track is getting hard to reach now.
