The footage seems fine for what it's meant to be.

Yeah the post-production effects really takes the realism out of a video, that is supposedly the last time 2 now missing people were seen, being posted on a themepark's YouTube channel rather than being given to the police.

In general, the whole 'found footage' concept we've seen used in films, like Blair Witch, Paranormal Activity, etc., has such post producton effects put on, making it feel more 'found' and mysterious. All that has simply be done, in my eyes, is the usual effects for this sort of footage.

Really and truly, it doesn't matter that much, if at all. I think the fact that the people who are having issues with the post production effects are people who work in media show that the complaint is more a nitpick as opposed to an actual flaw...

How ironic...

I'll let Diogo nitpick as much as I let others on here nitpick about the half way signs on concrete.

Either way, we all know it's doing a good job ;)

In terms of revealing the worlds first, only in this country would you get the big worlds first revealed on a box of cereal. Very disappointing, what happened to big announcements or press releases? They do things like this so much better in the USA, they've got a whole schedule of events for the opening of Gatekeeper at Cedar Point!

:)

Chances are Rob that they had a schedule in place already. Tell a big manufacturer "ooh can you hang on, we have a bit of welding to get done?" and they'll promptly show you the door.

That is by all accounts though, rubbish. If they knew this marketing was happening, they most definitely SHOULD have announced it first!

Utter stupidity on behalf of Towers in this case.

Blair Witch was just shot with domestic grade cameras. They didn't plaster stupid effects all over it in the edit... And it looked believably amateur.

LOl... This is a bit like trying to explain different coaster types to a non-enthusiast who doesn't see any difference between an Arrow looper and a B&M hyper. ;)

Not at all no and thanks for being condescending, that always adds to the conversation. The point still stands that with amateur effects programs available today this IS believably amateur.

Just to point out... The people who made these videos and Blair witch/paranormal activity etc, all will have degrees/ jobs in the media industry, just like you diogo.i think they're fully aware that these effects don't occur naturally on a video, without these effects, the videos wouldn't have the same sort of affect or creepiness about them...it's called appealing to a wider audience, not just a few hardcore media specialists who will pick everything they do apart. ;)

Whilst I know nothing about media and the likes, I do know that the effects seen in the videos don't happen. They're clearly for effect.
However, I can see exactly why they have been added. It's literally for dramatic effect and nothing else. If these videos were crisp, clear and in full HD, we wouldn't perhaps see them as strange as they are. The way this technique has been used in the past in shows etc just aids the feeling a viewer is supposed to feel when watching. It isn't to annoy the media experts in this world.

After all, how many people are actually going to take apart these videos and assess each little detail? Minimal amounts. We are a minority!

I like the way the videos have weird and distorted visuals, it makes them creepy and unreal.

why is Diogo so critical of the pro-production? I think it is explained in one line

I only spent ten years working as a vision engineer for the BBC, and another two as a freelancer. ;)

He has spent many years working for a organization that take the quality of it visual output very very seriously, even when they were making it look bad on purpose. After a while this quality standard must become a mindset.

well that my thought on it.

Not sure if this has been said, but does anyone think the girl in these new videos and the smiling girl in that video released a few months back might be one in the same?

That was mentioned a few pages back. There are a couple of stills from the videos they took, for me it is a yes most definitely.

Had to go back around 13 pages, but I'm quite surprised at how little it's been discussed.

I've noticed a fair few times that great posts get missed. I like to highlight them like I just did there if I get the chance, but it will become clear when the next video is released - it's bound to be that one if it is indeed correct.

To be honest I am just happy waiting to find out officially.

If any, then the fourth video will probably be the closest thing to it.

After then, maybe Towers will release it as a companion piece, or unofficial 'fifth' video. Remember that outside of the enthusiast community, nobody knows of this video anyway so Towers could still release it to a larger audience. If not, it could have been intended to be the fifth video were it not for the leak.

It just seems odd that this video, which seems to feature the exact same girl, and shows her fate, won't be tied in properly with what's going on at the moment.

There is a large chance that the original video was a submission to try and get the contract for the marketing - so it could be tied in or it could be seperate.

It's definitely "Trisha" in the first 'leaked' video. And the scenes in that were shot in Victoria Baths in Manchester, whilst the Kelman scenes in the official videos were also shot there. So I think it's safe to say that the 'leaked' video will soon be an official one.
