This has been going on for years, even when TPWW was still in relative infancy from Shawn running the channel solo. Whilst Shawn has rightly distanced himself from one of the culprits, he's still friends with another. Screenshots from years ago show this isn't anything new, sadly.

Something needs to be done, and good on those for speaking out.

He's probably worried that it will damage his image, so to speak, but appearing with them in a video will just cause more issues, as you said. Plus the longer he keeps quiet about it on social media the more time people have to make up rumours.

He’s got a problem though, if as he says it’s been reported to the authorities then he can’t make comments regarding it other than what he’s already posted.

He really should make that comment the top post and not hide it.

He should have instantly addressed the comments to show that the allegations are being taken seriously and that perhaps the individual in question won't be appearing on the channel until it's been fully investigated.

I'd like to think the lack of comment/blocking replies is more naiveity than anything malicious but yeah... Really stupid thing to do and insulting to those who have spoke out.
 
Just to be clear, are these allegations against Shawn himself, or against other stars on the channel?

If what people are saying has happened is true, then that is not good at all. And I must admit; I’m rather surprised that this apparently isn’t the first time. Sexual harassment is not something that should happen to anyone, and to tell you the truth, none of the people on TPW seem like the sort who would engage in that sort of thing. It’s a family channel, as Shawn himself likes to reiterate at numerous points in the videos, and if the allegations are true, then I am very disappointed in whoever the culprit may be.

Come to think of it, I have been watching TPW avidly for quite a few years now, and I have noticed the absence of certain vlogstars over the last few years; I know the reasoning behind the disappearance of one (Dean in 2016) from the channel is completely unrelated, as I think I remember reading that him and Shawn had a disagreement over different matters, but could some of the other disappearances potentially be related?

I’m not saying that whoever did it isn’t guilty at all; I’m sure that whoever reported this would have no reason to lie about such a thing. People who experience this sort of thing have a right to speak up, and I’m not saying that whoever is being accused of doing this isn’t guilty at all, because we simply don’t know.

I’m just saying that I’m quite shocked because they don’t come across badly in the videos. I’m not trying to say that they aren’t guilty at all. We just don’t know until more comes out.

I had certainly never heard of any previous allegations in the theme park community, so I must admit that I’m quite shocked that it’s such a “problem” in the community.
 
I agree Matt, it would seem surprising for them to make up an allegation like this. Not impossible though. Detailed allegations have been made by numerous women towards men that have been proven false before, which proves why we should always go by evidence rather than call out culture or mob rule. I was one of the few people who defended Johnny Depp as being innocent until proven guilty while a lot of other people were following the "he's a pathetic abuser" bandwagon, and look how things turned out in the end.
However, looking at the twitter allegations, in this case, there would appear to be a lot of evidence that there is creepy behavior by some of these figures. I don't know the full facts, or who these people are, but given a lot of people have come out against them and that the time period spans over a long period, it's clearly on Theme park worldwide to answer these allegations in one way or another, and for the time being withdraw the figures involved until these cases have been solved. Evidence should be piled together by the victims/figures involved, collectively, and handed to the police, so that it meets their criteria for sufficient evidence. With that out of the way, the figures involved can be dealt with.
 
It is also an unfortunate fact that some sex abusers use sites such as these to access young people and initiate p.m. conversations with them.
One of the vigilante groups outed one on a theme park car park quite recently.
Another member highlighted issues around another naughty ex member to me recently.
Trust nobody with your tackle.
 
I still don’t know an awful lot about these allegations other than that members of TPW have been accused of some form of sexual harassment; when I tried to look for things about them on TPW’s Twitter page, I only found Shawn’s reply saying about having “contacted the local authorities” repeated 3 times. If someone knows and wouldn’t mind telling me, could I please ask what the allegations have said and who they are aimed at?

I must admit, I’m shocked that something like this has happened within a community like TPW, if the allegations are true. I’m especially shocked to hear that it’s happened before; if Shawn has tried to distance himself from these individuals, as some have said he has, then that’s fair enough (and as I said, it would also link in with the sudden, inexplicable disappearances of certain regular vlogstars from the channel over the years...), as there’s only a certain degree to which he personally can regulate what goes on behind closed doors with members of his community.

But I must admit, hearing this makes me feel very guilty for having watched the channel so oblivious to this sort of thing over the last 5 years or so. I would never have guessed that something like this would have happened within the TPW community, as they all seem so friendly on camera and from hearing reports from fans who met them at the parks, and in many ways, I feel personally very guilty for having so ardently supported the channel. I’ve always really enjoyed the videos; Shawn has always produced some fantastic content, and from what I know, I don’t think Shawn himself has ever been the target of any of these allegations (correct me if I’m wrong), but I must admit I do feel a pang of personal guilt over watching the videos and being such an avid fan over the last 5 years, and I feel like I’ve done or said something absolutely terrible that I need to apologise for.

I’ve always loved the videos themselves, and found Shawn himself to be a really interesting individual to watch (he’s always been very friendly whenever he’s replied to my comments, and he even picked my name for a ride in one of his Planet Coaster parks, which made me feel really excited), but I felt incredibly uneasy as soon as I read that something like that has happened that’s related to my favourite YouTube channel...
 
It just shows how careful you have to be when you're in the public eye and how quickly things can get out of control.
 
What will be interesting is how TPW deal with it other than hiding comments, if criticism keeps coming in then you’d assume attractions would distance themselves and deny filming onsite as no business would want any link to those claims.
 
Thanks for the information @monkeyboy. I’m still quite shocked that something like this would have happened in a community so close to my heart. And as I said, that does explain the mysterious disappearance a year or two back of one of the vlogstars I was wondering about...

However, I must ask; who is Andrew Sealey? I feel like I should know who he is, but my only recollection is hearing him mentioned in a TheMossMachine video once or twice when TheMossMachine’s channel still existed.
 
Andrew got caught by a peodo Hunter,look online I think it was at Pultons car park??
Coastin.net is Chris’s channel but I’m not sure if the allegations are against him

Whilst I don't wish to censor discussion, I do need to make a few things clear.

As has been mentioned, it's been stated that the police have been contacted regarding the allegations. Therefore it is imperative that both as a site and also everyone else as individuals do not do anything to interfere with that process.

As a small site we do not have the ability to evaluate the legalities of each individual post discussing allegations. Therefore I would ask everyone to not name individuals who have not been found guilty of offences within this topic.

In addition whilst I don't wish to stop people discussing the allegations in general, for the same reasons please avoid posting specifics.

Any posts not adhering to the above will be removed. If posts continue to go against the above requests, then this topic will be temporarily locked. Thanks in advance for your support.
 
The response surrounding is appalling. Deleting comments, removing tweets, blocking people who mention it on social media... very poor. This should be addressed with a statement across all platforms that it is being dealt with the local authorities and the alleged individuals are no longer associated with TPWW. Most people will be more understanding of that than their comments being deleted 2 minutes later...

If it's a situation where the reason for attempting to cover it up is to maintain TPWW's popularity and keep friends, it's perhaps best to separate this in public view. Support the alleged individuals in private behind closed doors, and no longer allow them to have involvement with TPWW or appear in any media/videos.

Censoring will cause more damage than addressing the issue to followers.

Personally I've never been a huge fan of TPWW. This doesn't help things or their image.
 
In answer to myself further up, people have been contacting Alton Towers for one and a screenshot which appears to be from Alton Towers support saying they are aware of the serious allegations and are investigating and it will be dealt with appropriately.
