I generally thought the people on here where more balanced than those on social media channels, but I'm starting to see new faces on this thread and now I'm wondering if I got this place all wrong. I've just been reading a comment from someone on social media, who doesn't know TPWW, has never posted about them before, but heard what was going on and his now smearing all sorts of hate because he wants to "support the victims".
That's not supporting anyone, that's bullying someone who in the eyes of the law has done nothing wrong.
And I think that's my main issue with all of this - there is so much unproven, so many things which are hearsay, things that we don't even know where said..... yet, it's all out there now and a lot of people are just using it to bring TPWW down.
And to be honest, when this sort of thing gets on the internet, even when it's proven (which may happen) to be false.... there will always be people who won't believe that.
There are so many lives that have been ruined by throwaway comments on the internet and unfounded rumours. How is this 2020 and we've learned nothing?
I get what your saying but unfortunately with that much money being made and followers media companies like his (and we are not talking small amounts of money) need to act responsibly. If this was itv (and remember some of his content gets more views than that shown on terrestrial TV) they would be expected to pause, take stock and have a review of the situation.
The response however was to block people, delete posts and to carry on. It has been alleged with screen shots they told one victim it was a joke. So yes it's a huge shame but out of respect of everyone involved and the cause I would have hoped they would lay low and put out a statement that has condemnation of any assult. (Without naming them).
Just because he makes a living out if it does not allow them to ignore this and TV stations have social responsibility. You tubers are no different in the eyes of the law once they make revenue. I mentioned previously the laws on filming on private property and interviewing people still apply to them. I hope the venues will step in to refuse permission to film if they (TPWW) cant address the issues swiftly with the respect the people who came forward deserve.
