This has been an issue since the original Summer Nights started, as they've ALWAYS been dead... One wonders if there's any actual appetite for it from the GP apart from in Halloween season...
I have long argued this... it seems to be in the DNA of the British public that theme parks are almost exclusively a 9 - 5 activity. Unless there is a compelling reason to be there outside of these times - fireworks, spooky stuff or illuminations, it just doesn't seem to appeal. This has been an issue since the original Summer Nights started, as they've ALWAYS been dead... I think conditioned makes it sound more sinister than it really is.
It's cultural, in the same way a lot of locals targeted parks in Spain don't open before midday.
Certainly an interesting change if permanent; I suppose it's good improvisation!Marhelorpe from Thorpe Park Mania said:At the end of the experience in the fake gift shop, not only was the floor projection turned off where the demon stands, but this happened......
.....Instead of the demon jumping out from behind the door, we get... Mr. Bronchitis.
All that happened was an actor in a plain white shirt and some trousers stood in the centre, pretending to cough multiple times in all 3 directions at the audience. The poor fella must've had a really bad cold today bless him.
But essentially, the demon costume is no more (as of today), so they get an actor coughing his lungs up to replace it...
That sounds like covering for something, so temporary.I'm not sure if this is a permanent change or not, but Marhelorpe on Thorpe Park Mania has reported a change to Derren Brown's Ghost Train that occurred on his last ride on the attraction:

I did DBGT ROTD the other day (my advice leave it till ride close, the. It’s walk on (except for the 20 mins you watch between batches going in)). The actor at the top of the stairs was quite good and creepy, and much better than some you get who just give you some health and safety messages.
Also with it being the end of the day we had quite a few actors in the middle section, even if they are hard to spot with the large groups and random layout it has now.
As for the fake shop. We also got someone in a white T-shirt coughing. Certainly no where near as good as the demon. Also the projector on the floor is broke, as is two TVs on the fake Picsolve wall and of course the floor also isn’t working.
I’ve heard rumours the Derren Brown name will be coming off the ride soon, so assume it will just become the generic VR ghost train and probably make even less sense than it does now.
