Have you seen the state of the harnesses on most rides? A bit of scuffing from the belt is the least of their concernsThat does seem pretty sensible to be fair. Yes the risk of damage is probably low, but why not try to keep the ride in good condition.

Oblivion's especially, they really could do with a clean or even replacing.Have you seen the state of the harnesses on most rides? A bit of scuffing from the belt is the least of their concerns![]()

Blivvy's harnesses have been in poor condition for years in terms of how they look.Oblivion's especially, they really could do with a clean or even replacing.

Not surprising as the force of the launch would cause the belts to strike the seat/restraint if not fastened. Could be dangerous.Intamins are different most won’t dispatch without belts done.

Which era Intamins have belt sensors? I can't think of one that I've worked on that does.Intamins are different most won’t dispatch without belts done.

Might not be a sensor thing, if Intamin specify in their manuals that the belts have to be fastened then parks will just follow the rule for insurance reasons.
They do belts at Thorpe because it's how they check restraints regardless of whether or not someone is actually sitting in the seat not because they care about the restraint conditions. The other thing I don't get, operations were hampered by staff having to faff with seatbelts on empty seats, fastening for dispatch then having to go down the train when it arrived at the station to undo them.
Also I think that you can send Stealth without the seat belt in so I doubt there's a "seatbelt sensor" on Intamin launches as that would just be a stupid extra amount of wiring and the computer shutting the ride down if said wiring has a problem.

Stealth can definitely been sent out without all belts locked, as I've been next to an empty that was missed before. Realistically given the short belt, it's just a bit more noisy. It can also help ensure the guest doesn't get stuck at the exit station if they're in the right hand seat, and no one unlocks the empty left belt in time.
Thorpe are doing a passholder only event on 6th November 10am - 8pm.

Another really impressive video from Thorpe. Looks great, gives me more Halloween Horror Nights VIBES from how they've staged the scare zones.
Sadly I've no intention of going this year, as don't think the health risk to reward is anywhere near worth it. Hopefully 2021 will maintain this.

Hey all
Does anyone know where you can get two for one tickets from for TP at the moment?
We don’t have annual passes this year due to the situation but fancy a visit next week.
Thanks
Have a look for Cadbury packs
https://www.cadbury.co.uk/merlin/
Although they exclude most of Fright Nights, 17th October 2020 – 1st November 2020 2nd November 2020

Ugh, you've put that song in my headGreat! Thanks for your reply. I’ve found them on packs of Fudge fingers!
"A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat
A finger of fudge is just enough until its time to eat
It's full of Cadbury goodness but very small and neat
A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat!"
It's going to take ages to get that song out of my head
Anyway, enjoy Thorpe Park!
