Toverland: General Discussion

I visited Toverland for the first time last year, had a great time but went during Dutch half term Halloween Nights so it was very busy with 60 minutes+ queues for all the main coasters. Since then I'd vowed to go back on an off peak day. I've booked a week of bike touring in the Netherlands and already booked a hotel in Venlo on Monday 22nd September with the aim of going the following day and , bizarrely, that day they are listed as open 10.00 - 21.00, the only day in September when this happens. Anyone know why and if this then means it's likely to be busy? I've checked and can't see any special events. Having the opportunity for some night rides if I stay late is actually a bonus but the whole reason I picked this time of year is because I want a quiet off peak day to get some rides in!

Toverland have announced 2 new attractions.

One will replace the Blitz Bahn: It will be a different type of attraction, but it will retain the strengths of Maximus' Blitz Bahn ," a Toverland spokesperson told Looopings.

The other will be a dark ride but no other details have been revealed.

The writing has been on the wall for Max Blitz Bahn for some time, but I'll be sad to see it go. And thank goodness, they're finally getting a dark ride! I have longed for this announcement! 🙌

It's been the victim of its own capacity. Great fun little ride and wonderful theme, but excited to see what's next.

About bloody time for a dark ride. Can't wait to hear the soundtrack. 😉

2026 or 27 do we think? I have been thinking about a re-visit for a while now but will probably hold off now for the dark ride

Visited Toverland today, my second visit. The first was in October during Halloween nights half term so although the park was open for 13 hours it was very busy with long queues, so I thought I'd go for an off peak day and hope for fewer crowds, and boy was it quiet. When I arrived just before 10 there were about 20 people waiting for the turnstiles to open so for the first hour everything was walk on and largely empty. At 11 I spotted about 7 coaches and several hundred primary school children from the top of Troy's lift hill, those kids dominated the park for most of the day but everything remained walk on, with the exception of Blitz Bahn. The only real delays were that Dwervelwind, Troy and Fenix were all on one train so you had to wait for the train to come back again.

By 4pm all the school groups had left and the place was deserted, I was walking round with whole areas all to myself, it was bizarre and I've never seen a theme park like it. Ride staff were allowing re-rides if there was no body waiting at your gateline. I had three front row rides on Troy and three front row rides on Fenix left wing without leaving my seat (and could have had more!), every time the trains pulled in the station was still empty.

Fair play to the park keeping 10-6 hours on such a quiet day, with all rides open throughout, bar a couple of flat rides for maintenance. I saw some ride operators on some of the flat rides, Toos Express, etc sat there with empty rides, looking very bored. Even the Rapids was on, dispatching empty boat after empty boat. The only closures were some of the small food units and ride shops.

What a beautiful park it is though, I loved just walking round looking at the greenery, pathways and theming. Just built so well and well maintained - such a lovely looking park. Also did Merlin's Quest for the first time which gives me high hopes for their dark ride.
