Towers Loving Care

Wasn't there for me either. Can see why Ripsaw went - even though I hope it will be replaced - but think that HEX may just need a long term refurb.

Top reason why I won't be visiting this year! No hex! It's one of the best dark rides in the country. If they Handel this wrong with the amount of closed rides and current price are people going to go... Why bother its not value for money. Does this also mean the UK's number one theme park has one dark ride? Chessington and even thrope will have more!

Well we know Ripsaw is gone, The Flume will be demolished as it's knackered, Sub-Terra I'd be surprised to see open again, Charlie's IP has run out so they'll leave that empty till it's replaced, Driving School is a weird one, don't know what they'll do with that, and Hex... I'm not sure about Hex. Certainly enthusiasts love it, do the public? It's good at soaking crowds and it does seem to get a good amount of guests going on it.

I think if any of the closed rides has a chance of opening again it will be Hex. The rest can easily never see the light of day again. Marketing will have fun trying to explain that in 2017 after the TLC excuse.

I'm hopeful Hex will re-open eventually, the main drum does need a good refurb, the interior is covered in oil stains. Overall its a perfect concept and just needs a tidy up.

I agree that Flume could do with being knocked down and replaced, but it needs replacing.

Driving school is an odd one, but opening on weekends and school holidays only would make sense.

What happens when the ip for fiat runs out? Do they have to return the cars, or are they tower's?

They'll have to reverse the decision on hex. They will get a lot of complaints if they do, especially with 5 other rides closed and air/smiler (possibly) closed for the start of the season.

It was sponsored by Peugot originally so I don't think a change in sponsorship makes a difference.

I don't get these comments that it's ok to close rides to refurb them. Towers is shut for nearly 5 months, there's plenty of time to do the work then.
Depends on the refurb tbh. if it is to replace the drum, then id get it being closed for a few weeks into the season (not the whole season though), but this is clearly cost cutting. I doubt anything is wrong with N:ST that requires it closing for a season and a half, or that driving school has any issues.

If Hex makes a return for 2017, I'll eat my hat...then again I've said that phrase many times for many times for Towers? I'm going to be needing a lot of hats now...

Don't forget, it took them over 8 years to replace The Black Hole after that was suddenly SBNO'd. This was during a time when the park was doing reasonably well.

So given the current state of affairs, how long will it take them to replace/refurbish the amount of rides being closed now? Submission site has sat empty for 2 years despite the initial success of The Smiler.

To be fair to towers though, they did make use of the BH tent before the smiler. They wouldn't do anything with hex, I'd be surprised if they remove the queue fences any time soon.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's only SBNO so they can add laser guns and remove any links to a storyline tbh ;)

Exactly. they'd probably use AR to fill the vault with ghosts... AND give you guns to shoot at them.
