I'm really liking all of the little tweeks and changes that are happening, I don't post as much as I should but I do read the forums every day so I do notice them. I have nothing but praise for the team, well done guys :)

P.s My only critique is that ghastly yellow 'TS member bar', but that's just fussy me with my hatred of yellow. I once ate a yellow 'rotting egg' Bertie Botts bean and I've never been able to view the colour yellow without feeling sick, since.

I like the slight changes :) The font looks nicer and the slight difference in colour around user info on the left of a post looks good too! I dunno if this has happened to everyone though or just me, but the Quote button is no longer top right on every post, but rather is quite a bit indented?

Any idea why I have '1 New Measage' in my inbox, however there's nothing new there. I've confirmed this by clearing the entire thing, but it still shows up on the main site, Forum and even Tapatalk.

I've cleared Internet settings & files etc etc etc, but it's not fixed it.

Ideas?!

I personally had a problem a while back where when I received a PM I'd click my inbox and find it was empty. However, when I looked at the bottom it emerged that for some reason the forum sent me to a page in my inbox which was empty, and that when I went back a page the messages appeared (E.G. It went to page 2 which was empty, so I had to go back to page 1)!

I've no idea why it did it, or if it was solved in the end (I don't get many PMs :( ), but it might be worth giving that a try to see if anything happened. If not I'm sure Joel or Craig will have a way to remove the reminder for you :)

Unfortunately I didn't have a page 1, I cleared them all! I'm not loved enough for ages upon pages of messages!

I've just sent myself a message and it cleared it, hurrah! However, the entire layout of the inbox now looks, odd? It's all separated and looks stretched out.

Not a big problem though!

Thanks!

Just a small issue I've noticed - if I visit the TST site without the 'www.' bit (like usual, as Im lazy :p ) CloudFlare interjects and says the site is down :)

Just letting you know :p

Could we make one redirect to the other?

Not sure which one you'd prefer (www or non-www) but it's good to keep it consistent to avoid session problems (a session on www.towersstreet.com != a session on towersstreet.com) and the potential for Google to think it's duplicate content.

It'll probably be only a couple of lines change in the Apache config.

I know it was mentioned a couple of pages back, but that descended into technical shizzle I don't understand. The text is too small, too close together, and even with my very good eyes I find it hard to read. Can I change it?

Ta.

(Just noticed that while I'm writing this it looks fine, why can't it stay like this when it's posted?)

Just thought I'd mention that the navigation bar at the top seems to overlap the Scarefest banner/SW7 countdown timer.

However the rest looks great, keep up the amazing work.

EDIT: It's fixed now...

It always has done, and Apache is already setup to redirect from day 1 (check google for links without www.!).

Also about sessions - they are subdomain independant, so your cookie for your session is set for *.towersstreet.com anyway, because of the SW7 mini site etc.

Why on earth CloudFlare isn't honouring it though I don't know... :(

Apologies if it's already been brought up, but in the "bar" above each post the quote button (and modify for your own posts) is a lot further left than usual, normally it's on the far right at the top. I assume it's just an error of some sorts? It looks very out of place!

:)

Yeah, it's on the to-be-fixed list under aesthetics :D

I has question, which isn't really worth it's own topic:

Is it better to use "Unread Posts" or "New Replies" to catch up on the latest forum goings on?
I often find myself checking both, as they tend to return completely different results. Yet often there are random topics that don't show up in either search, even though something has been posted since I last looked.

Also, I've noticed that sometimes (though not always) the search seems to clear when I log in on a different device. IE, I browse on my phone while on the tube, get home and use my iPad or a PC, and the forum seems to think there are no new posts, even though I know there were loads I had not read only minutes ago.

TL;DR... What's the best way to get a list of everything that has a "new" icon next to it?

Personally, I go through each forum individually. The unread posts option will give a list of unread posts since your last visit, but if you've logged on from a different device previously you might miss some. New replies will only show the topics you have participated in which contain unread posts, hence the difference between the two.

As for the forum unread problems when changing device, this is probably mainly to do with Tapatalk I'm guessing as it happens to be at times too. I *think* we're trying to look into this at the moment, I'm sure Joel will confirm at some point although he is off away for the weekend so might take a couple of days to confirm :).

Well I don't use tapatalk if that helps. Just Dolphin browser.

Please don't take this the wrong way, it's going to sound horrible, and I don't even want to say it, buuuuut ... The new posts feature seemed to work a lot better on TTF (please don't hate me!) :p

Meh, I'm just lazy tbh. I like the idea of all new stuff being handed to me on a plate by the forum :p Having to search yourself just seems so 20th century.

I think you'll find that the new posts feature worked exactly the same on TTF, given it's the same forum software ;-)

New Replies only shows topics that have a post in since you've posted in them

Unread Posts shows posts made since your last visit to the forum, no matter what device and how much you read since the last time you visited. I.E. Every new visit (which is roughly if you're inactive for 15 mins or more) only shows NEW posts since your last visit, even if you didn't read all of them in your last visit. Hard to explain this one.

So you visit at 7am today, and there's 30 unread posts since your last visit.
You read 10 of them.
You come back at 8am, and click Unread Posts. There's 4 new posts only showing, all of which were posted about 7.30am.
It won't show you the 20 you missed earlier, ONLY new posts since your last visit at 7am.

You probably want Unread Posts , then click on the purple buttons that say ALL UNREAD TOPICS which shows you everything you've not read regardless of your last visit date.

Is it possible to change the Forums button for logged in users back to Talk.

I liked calling the discussion board 'Talk' as it made it different from other places.

Maybe for users who are not logged in, there could be some sort of arrow pointing to talk saying 'Join the discussion today' or something.

I just feel changing it back to Forums is a backward step, and that forums has a negative association with them. I would rather go somewhere to Talk, which sounds positive, than a forum which can be seen as somewhere that flame wars and arguments take place.
