A little bit nerdy, not really necessarily and quite picky, but why does the Google search say this? "Alton Towers Hotel ». Everything is OK Last Updated @ 11th Aug 2012. red, Splash Landings Hotel ». Splash Landings is currently sleeping for the low season.."

That's part of the content on the Resort Status sidebar on the right hand side of the TS homepage. If you click on the hotel/themepark/waterpark it gives you more information on whether the attraction is open or closed :).

This feature has been improved by 72%. And now explains itself better too :p

Only just noticed the picture gallery upon the top bar, I must say it's brilliant thank you for setting the area up.

Great work with the gallery. Looks very nice and fits in with the site very well. So long for the Zen gallery look, eh? ;)

Looking forward to see the TST gallery expanding, liking been part of the forum :)

I shall take a moment out to say Thanks! for the amazing forum-y goodness :D

Right.

Is there a way to add a "Favourites" feature, so that you can mark posts of interest for future reference?

For example, when people post decent links to useful info, websites, videos to mark for later reading or reference.

I know this may not be the easiest thing in the world to do - just thought I'd put it out there.

Thanks guys. Loving all the improvements coming along.

Very decent site to navigate around and use! :)

You could just create a new bookmarks folder in your browser and then click the post-specific link and bookmark/name that in the folder. Pretty easy to do and would serve the same purpose as an in-forum feature.

That's great mate thank you. Still be nice to have an in house feature, but I will be making use of that tip.

Very much appreciate that.

bookmarking is a great way of doing it, until you are on another computer then its "damn it"

Not unless you use Chrome and use the built in sync feature (relies on you having Chrome on multiple devices). It's an absolute life saver if you're like me and use multiple devices. Your bookmarks are the same on everything! :D

I don't think we'll have it as an inhouse feature for the forseeable future. We've been pretty careful to careful choose modifications to ensure we don't have forum issues when it comes to upgrading the software in future and also to minimise server load.

The suggestions above are great though as a workaround (along with good ol' Chrome!) so I'd suggest that for the time being. We'll keep it in mind if we do come across something suitable in future though :)

I love the speed of the forum and keeping it streamlined sounds good :D

Yup, that was a key complaint when we were on TT and we were keen on making sure we put far more thought into balancing performance and usability on here. That doesn't mean we don't listen to suggestions, just balance usefulness with the impact it can have on site performance and the problems they cause when it comes to future forum software upgrades :).

I can imagine it may be a bit back end intensive! Just had the thought as I found something really interesting I know will vanish into the pages later on - the workarounds were good ideas though to click on the actual message and book mark it - thanks again to ALASTAIR for that!

Thanks for giving it consideration though Craig and responding, reasons make perfect sense.

Another suggestion though, as I repeatedly want them as I believe they enhance a message in text with no ambiguity, is a thumbs up icon!

It would go here right now ;D - Even a pint maybe lol!!

The old BBC 606 forum icons were fantastic in terms of the blend they had between funny, communication, getting a message across. Is it possible to add a few more I'll happily search them out again if it may be of use!

Cheers guys!
:)

EDIT: Found them anyway

Obviously the sport ones aren't relevant!

PLEASE! (Excuse caps lol!)

Can you change the big smile emoticon to The Smiler??

No idea if you can, but if you can, now is that time ;D << That one
