- The fireworks being fantastic, and the best I've seen at Towers. They weren't perfect - there were a couple of things that could've been changed - but they were a vast improvement on 2011 and 2012
- The sing-along and dancing to the pre-show on Saturday and Sunday
- The Smiler in the dark being good once again
- Managing to do Rita, Thirteen and The Smiler in about an hour after the fireworks
- Finally staying on resort for the first time
- Getting two rides on Nemmy after doing The Smiler, including the last 'normal' guest train of the year ('normal' here means the last guest train using the normal queue, as there were one or two cycles with people from the exit on them)
- Absolutely pelting it from Nemmy's exit to her entrance at the end
- Ending the season on Nemmy's front row. It's how I've started and finished the past two seasons, and I don't intend on changing that at all
- Dave's reaction to finding Churchill China mugs in our room in Splash
- Jordan on the Skywalk
- Having 'Happy Birthday' sung to me after the fireworks had finished yesterday at the bottom of Towers Street
- DRINKS!
- Finally getting to meet TheMan
- Discovering that Scott actually exists
- Rapids water cannon fun
- Leaving
- Not getting to say goodbye to everyone
- JoshT for lifts between my place and Towers
- Dave for surprising me and ordering balloons to our room
- Those who bought me drinks last night
- Everyone there for making my birthday weekend truly memorable
- Favourite Ride
- NemiLerVion
- Finally getting to meet TheMan

Quite a few people I think, me, Sammy, Jordan, Saz, Russel, Dave, Dave, and more.
I have never stayed at the Ibis before so no idea what it is like, think its just basic rooms. Don't know if it has a bar or anything either?

Brilliant, just have my fingers crossed that they still have rooms when I get paid on Thursday! I don't mind what it's like, just needs a bed and preferably other TST people around!

There's a pub next door and a KFC too. I'm staying there on Saturday as well
If it helps anyone - the ibis appears to only take payment for your room when you check in. When you reserve your room it doesn't appear to take payment so as long as you have the money on the day it should be fine.

Yes you can book, and I believe cancel up to 24 hours before (on website or call the hotel). You pay when you arrive.

The Ibis is extremely basic. For anyone who hasn't stayed before expect tiny rooms. The shower and sink is in the room itself, with the toilet being in a separate 'cupboard'.
Payment is indeed when you arrive though which is a nice bonus. You just need card details to reserve the room.

East Midlands Trains have just stated on Twitter that trains on the Crewe-Derby via Stoke & Uttox line will only be running from Derby to Blythe Bridge, with a bus service from Blythe to Crewe on the 10th. Hopefully, this won't affect very many people, but I thought it was still worth mentioning.

Definitely be there both days of the weekend now, probably arriving in time for the meet tomorrow. Just looked at the weather forecast, which has improved my mood a little.
I've had a pretty **** week and in a bit of a sulky mood, so please be gentle with me
BUT I've every faith in this community to cheer me up and restore my will to live. I've heard great things about the fireworks so far, so looking forward to those once again, and our group making busy Towers bareable once again

So... Once more unto the breach dear friends, once more. Last day of Alton Towers this year, and it was good.
Highlights of the day:
last ride of Doodle Doo Derby "I've got a duck up my ****. It's surprisingly comfortable."
The TST code "any man who falls behind is left behind"
playing tennis with Georgia as the ball over the courtyard tavern fence
Lowlights of the day:
FAFF
being attacked in the smiler queue

Wow. What a weekend. I genuinely can't fault it at all.

This season has truly been fantastic, with this past weekend being the highlight for me. I honestly can't thank you guys enough. This was the first time I've stayed up drinking all night on a meet, and it was just hilarious. I'm quite impressed that I managed to drink at least five cocktails and not wake up with a worse hangover, actually!
Here's to hoping that closed season will be bearable!

Haha!! Yes it was a pleasure to finally meet you mate!
Was great to finally meet Scott too. Although I think there were two Scotts, one stood on the others shoulders!
Ollie "I am not small, I am just far away" ;D
Will "Stop Digging" G
Astro "Dermure" Dan.
The mini flashlight raves.
Being filmed by the surrounding laughing crowd whilst bobbing to ITHOTMK.
The frankly brilliant fireworks.
Getting to know Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave and Dave. (or is that one to many?)
Getting Astro to sing his dittys in French to honour Pierre ;D - who is an absolute legend.
Pierre "Soak the women and children!" rapids special!
Dragging Diogo on The Smiler hahaha! (Not sure he is still talking to me).
The Smiler looking utterly mesmerising in the misty lights - it really looked sensational as did the Oblivion drop. X-sector was an absolute picture last night. Full on coaster porn. So atmospheric!
So many highlights. Most of which created by a fantastic group of people.
