- Shambhala (PortAventura Park)
- Forbidden Journey (KUKA RoboCoaster) - While itās the oldest Harry Potter ride, it was recently used for Monsters Unchained in Epic Universe, so evidently still has life left in it.
- Hagridās (Intamin Family Launch Coaster)
- Hogwarts Express (Train)
- Gringotts (Intamin Multidimensional Coaster)
- Flight of the Hippogriff (Vekoma/Mack family coaster; newer versions have trended towards Mack)
- Battle at the Ministry (Trackless dark ride)
- Dragon Challenge (B&M Inverted Coasters) - Technically an option, but I doubt Universal would go for this seeing as JK Rowling was said not to like the rides and they were removed from the original land in Islands of Adventure without being replicated.

[š Universal GB] General Discussion
It would be difficult to create a brand new HP world, it felt like they were even scraping the barrel a bit with āWizarding Parisā. However rides/shows etc, there could still be tons of unique ideas that havenāt been done before - itād just be fitting them into a suitable themed area.
They could lean into New York or wherever that magic creatures film was set. Or just do it based on the magical creatures film; only the first one though because the others don't exist.
I'm sure they could make something fun around a niffler stealing coins
Their showbiz and entertainment reporting is top tier and usually very accurate tbf, Iād be inclined to believe this due to the inevitable crossover and the fact itās being reported by that department with their sourcesThe sun isnt the greatest source in the world as we know and the article doesn't seem to be well researched either so we can still take what is said here with a massive pinch of salt I guess.
If they do go Potter though.....I wonder which ride/s they will opt for?
I will be honest....if all we end up with is yet another Forbidden Journey clone I will be bitterly bitterly disappointed. If it has to be Potter then Im hoping its something you cant experience in Orlando.

What are the existing Harry Potter ride systems? I believe there are 2 unique dark rides selectively developed, Forbidden Journey and Epic Universes new offering right? The former must be over 20 years old so that seems unlikely to be replicated in its current formā¦

The screen quality is what badly lets down Forbidden Journey. I never get motion sickness on dark rides but I do on this and always seems to be the screen segments that do it.
Sure the KUKU arm technology has evolved but it's not massively different in Monsters unchained. Just the quality of the theming really and screens which is the noticeable difference.
Monsters is now my No 1 dark ride in the world.

In terms of ride systems, we have:

Currently there is Forbidden Journey which is a Kuka arm and Monsters Unchained at Epic uses the same (or very similar) system, Gringotts which is a coaster with a motion base, Hagrids motorcycle is a coaster with launches and trick track sections. Then the Hogwarts Express train and the old Hippogriff kiddie coaster. I'm not sure what type of ride Battle at the Ministry is at Epic as I'm avoiding spoilers, but Epic also has a show.Back to Universal, what are the existing Harry Potter ride systems? They could use coasters or the Kuka arm system again just with different stories of course.

Itās funny, I went on it at USJ last year and didnāt notice the screen quality but my friend felt so unwell after she had to sit down in the exit area (where that was actually a dedicated waiting area for this!)
I went on again this year and really noticed the screen quality this time. An updated version with whatever theyāre using at DisneySea would be amazing.

A VR-based Quidditch ride was allegedly designed and then scrapped at the last moment before construction was due to begin at Universal Studios Florida. The reason was supposedly that a very similar experience unexpectedly opened, licensed by WB, in New York City. This could potentially be re-purposed.

The idea of a Quidditch ride is cool! But I sincerely hope that VR is something they wouldnāt bring given that the 2010s arguably taught us that VR in theme parks is largely not very goodā¦A VR-based Quidditch ride was allegedly designed and then scrapped at the last moment before construction was due to begin at Universal Studios Florida. I can't see Harry Potter being at the UK park full stop...If they are going to do Harry Potter, we'll get brand new attractions. Those attractions will probably be the same ride systems Universal are known for but they will be new. Mark Woodbury said a few days ago they didn't want UGB to cannibalise visitors from UOR.
The public love to generalise experiences - "Harry Potter World" is what many people would refer to it, and once you've been to a "Harry Potter World", you certainly wouldn't pay 4 or 5 figures to go abroad for what would be viewed as a US imitation. You may go and visit the mouse however.

Nor I. But I'm going on the assumption that the article from The S*n is correct, seeing as that's what the line of speculation is today.
Funnily enough the Orlando resort is already considered 'Harry Potter Land'.

On the other hand, one could argue that āthe mouseā being in Europe does not deter people from going to the USA Disney resorts.I can't see Harry Potter being at the UK park full stop...

The Disney resort in Paris did not cannibalise the resort in Orlando.
Therefore, Harry Potter could potentially coexist in Europe alongside the Orlando resort.

Tweak the AR they are using for Mario Kart in Epic. I am generally of the opinion that VR is a disaster that should be confined to the scrapheap like 3DTV, doubly so for people who have eyesight issues that just stop it working completely, but an augmented reality headset for various aspects of Harry Potter world could have its uses if done well.

The Avatar: Flight of Passage technology would work far better with Broom flying than the Kuka Arm Tech does.
The movement of it on FJ doesn't quite work for me and it doesn't make you feel like you're flying a broom to me at all. I believe it fits with the Monsters unchained story far better.

Is there any data on this? As in not WDW footfall as a whole, but no decrease in visits from the UK & mainland Europe? On the other hand, one could argue that āthe mouseā being in Europe does not deter people from going to the USA Disney resorts.

Iāll admit I donāt have any specific data on this, but as WDW has only gone from strength to strength and grown exponentially in visitor figures in the time since DLP opened, I think itās safe to say that if there were people disincentivised from going to America as a result of DLP, they didnāt have a significant impact on the overall bottom line of the Orlando resort. Is there any data on this?
