@ZeldaAlton Hi Char, I've been working as an engineer for about 7 years, since I graduated from uni. I've only been working with robots since September though. I used to build control systems.
 
@BlondeGeek691 that sounds good. I hope you don't mind me asking but how old is your little one/s? Could you bring them with you as I'm sure they would love the fireworks? One of my mates went to the Legoland fireworks last year and you get these 3d glasses that makes all the fireworks into Lego.
I think you should go to the Merlinpool as Blackpool is a great place. I've already booked my hotel as I love the Pleasure Beach. Like yourself I haven't been in a few years either.
Did you go to any of the scarefest/ fireworks last year?
 
@ZeldaAlton she is 19 months and loves fireworks. Thinking of taking her to CBeebies at AT soon, I'm keen to get her started on roller coasters. Taking her to Disneyland Paris at easter and I can't wait!

I haven't been to scarefest for a few years, I usually try and go when the park is quieter. I'll probably just do the one day at Blackpool and opening weekend, I only live an hour away from both.

@BlondeGeek691 Awww bless her and you should bring her. That's awesome and have you been to Disneyland Paris before? I'm well jel about that as that's somewhere I would love to go myself. Your going to have an awesome time and I don't blame you being really excited about it :)
I understand about going when it's quieter but think they are only having two days of fireworks at AT this year? So I think it's going to be busy this year but the fireworks at AT are always good.
Then you should defiantly go for the day if your only an hour away. I'm abut 3hrs drive away, so I need to book a hotel to rest up. Esp that I think everyone is going to be there really late. I'm not too sure but I think the Pleasure beach is open until 10pm?

Hi Alastair, sorry but I'm a bit confused. We were tagged in this forum by other members for new members to get to know each other? I don't think anything in the messages are private and anyone if free to comment on anything we've been talking about DisneyLand, Alton, Legoland , Merlinpool etc?
I didn't mean to upset anyone by the messages but I'm not too sure what we should be discussing? :)

This thread is really meant for new members, like yourselves, to pop in and introduce yourselves, and to be welcomed by other members who have been here longer. The PM function should be used for personal messages if there are just the two of you having an indepth conversation.

I hope that clears it up! :)

Sorry @ZeldaAlton I didn't mean to come across too harshly. I just felt the messages were a little casual conversational, but I totally see what you mean. Don't let it discourage you from posting ;)

For those newbies not aware, as I wasn't when I first joined here, that's actually Hex lol - it's a Vekoma Madhouse.

I remember what it was like BEFORE this lot drummed into you how everything worked and who it's made by.

I used to have information stored there that's now filled with different kinds of tracks, launch systems, and goodness knows :D

So I just want to welcome everyone here. As someone who joined as a feisty, gobby, controversial member (*chuckles*) they STILL managed to make me feel welcome! :eek:

Having been on multiple meets, made some really truly amazing friends here, and had some incredible fun - I have to say, this place is brilliant.

It can feel a bit daunting at first, but you soon settle in and feel at home.

The meetings are, insane, & great fun.

I am not a person for forums etc, this is the only one I'm on, because it's like a big bunch of friends.

I don't think the forum really truly reflects what it's like out on meets, it's kept pretty well organised, on topic, polite solid discussions etc...

The meets are just crazy :tearsofjoy:
