Wicker Man - General Discussion - Part Two

Nope, it’s been quite consistent.

Staff around the hotels don’t sound too hopeful, but I believe there’s a meeting happening right now about the opening

That's good! Alton Towers have put absolutely zilch on their Facebook page, so I'm keeping an eye out!

Maybe Alton are reconsidering at this very moment? What does the Met Office say it's supposed to be in Alton right now?

We need to know pretty much now, so we can decide to come or not. If rides are open but still closing at 3pm, probably still not bothering.

If the park is relying on the Met Office alone, then it's supposed to be cloudy with a temperature of 0 degrees, with a feels like temperature of -7. Wind speed 40mph. Cloudy. This does not match up with the weather reports from those who are there, though. Strange. Very strange. Hopefully Alton has looked outside while they are considering their decision and not just at the Met Office.

Hopefully Alton has considered this.

Is it still clear? No signs of snow or cold temperatures or wind?
Few gusts of wind but nothing too bad, certainly shouldn't close the park. Obviously it's cold as it's the middle of March but it's not freezing and there is no snow at all.

I have very light snow where I live, but it doesn't look to be sticking. Also, Alton is 2 and a half hours away from me, so it should be very different up in Staffordshire.

Here in the east, I woke up expecting to see a blanket of snow on the ground and all I woke up to was a sugar dusting (not even that) of snow. I expect it's not just the snow, but the forecast of strong gust of wind that also going to stop the rides.

But surely Alton has determined that the forecast has thus far been wrong!
