Winter Wonderland 2016

Ooh, I shall have to try and get down to ride this then. Great news!

:)

I don't care how much it costs me. I am going down to London and I am going back on Olympia Looping. :p

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OLYMPIA LOOPING RIGHT ON MY DOOR STEP AND I CAN RIDE IT ON MY 21ST BIRTHDAY! :D

Nah seriously this is fantastic to hear! I can't believe it's coming to the UK, it's gonna take a while to sink in :p

*tries desperately to think of a plausible way I can get to winter wonderland and go on olympia looping*

Strangely, I don't know anyone willing to justify a four hour drive to ride a rollercoaster :(

*begins trying to convert family into rollercoaster geeks*

Still, it's great that it's coming to the uk, if not for the fact it's accessible to people here, then just to prove everyone wrong who said it was never going to happen. Now, if they'd just move it to Birmingham or somewhere else not to far away from me...

I'm more interested in proving wrong all my work friends who refuse to believe that a coaster that big can travel.

Haha the one year I finally get round to getting over to Oktoberfest is the year it also comes to Britain. Two opportunities to ride what's probably been my number one most wanted coaster for many years, absolutely can not wait to ride this BEAST.

Is it definitely coming to Winter Wonderland though? I've seen no confirmation other than a picture with a WW logo in the corner, a logo which could easily have been photoshopped.

:D

Anyone who has been before: how much money is it worth taking for rides and which ones are worth doing?

A good day out at WW can easily run in to the hundreds if you intend on doing all the rides and downing steins. Fifty quid is more quick visit post-work.
Mind you, I do drink quite a lot of beer when I'm there...

Thanks. I'm 16, so I don't think I'll be drinking :)

And I probably won't have time for every ride. I'm aiming for Olympia, mission space (I watched a video of it, it looks like two cranes stuck together. Not sure it looks legal ;)), any other decent coasters, and any interesting flats (breakdances?).

Depends what exactly they have, I've not seen a complete list yet. The Aplen Hotel fun house is a good one, so is Pirate Adventure.
Air is a great ride, but if it's busy, don't bother. They only run it on a decent cycle when it's quiet.
Once you've been on Mission Space, you'll not want to waste your time on a boring little Star Flyer every again. ;)
The waltzer is a rather good one, but they are ten a penny in the UK, so it's not vital.
Wilde Maus XXL is over-rated if you ask me. The first two drops are fine but then it turns in to a bog standard off the peg mouse. Euro Coaster (or Christmas Coaster as they call it) is only really worth it for the cred. I wouldn't waste your money on Ice Mountain, it's a standard Revechon spinner in the dark. Alpine Thriller is actually a really good layout.... but it's a Pinfari with horrible trains and horse-collar OTSRs, so expect pain.
Not sure if it's there this year, but last year they had Air Wolf, a unique ride from Mondial that I personally found much more fun than a Top Scan.
Bayern Breaker (the Breakdance) was run on proper German settings last year, so that's on the must-do list!

Air and The Waltzer are definitely my favourite flats there. The Waltzer is especially good if you can cram as many people as you can in there, you'll get a good spin :p

Wild Maus is okay, but it's not really worth the money at the expense of other rides or getting something to eat or drink imo.

Tbh I'm just scared Olympia bankrupts me...

I can see OL being a tenner per ride :(

... It was €5 at Dussledorf.

PMBO is £8 for what is a monorail for those who still buy tickets (believe it or not, that system still exists!) At least Olympia Looping is worth the money. Might pop it in with a Merlin street run as going to London for about 3 rides is a bit extreme, even for me :p
