You know you're getting old when...

Van Der Valk.
Just **** off.
It was **** in 1972.
Far fetched clog and canal fiddling.
It is just the same **** now.
Theme music, dont go there.
Simon Park can kiss my **** at Eye Level.
Number one for weeks, in the charts for what felt like half my childhood, then some ****** added lyrics and back in the charts again!
One of the biggest selling hits of the seventies.
Would clear the floor at a school disco in seconds.
Useless fact no. 563
Alton used the theme in its very early tv ads.
Allegedly..

The only thing I know about Van Der Valk is the theme tune. (And I only know that because of some running joke on some kind of panel show about fifteen years ago.... that's the best I can remember.)

Sorry.

****, I'm even older! I was given that monstrosity of a single as a kid. Bit of useless trivia. On the B side was the theme tune to Crown Court. If my memory serves me correctly Crown Court was shown on ITV at lunchtimes.

When I was a child I thought 80’s music was rubbish and for old fogey’s, but now realise it was one of the best decades for music, I’m getting old as the top 40 nowadays is awful!

Just renewed my driving licence for the second time. That means I've been driving for twenty ******* years. It feels like only yesterday when I was learning.

Do you have grandfather rights though? Apparently I can drive a coach towing a massive trailer. I can only imagine the carnage if I actually did!

I have. Its fun what i can drive according to my licence. (Pre 1st Jan 1997)
Being able to drive a vehicle totally 7.5 metric tons can be handy.
Also the amount of vehicles i can just slap L plates on and drive is mad too.

No, the rules changed some point in 1997 and I got my licence in 2001. My brother is four years older than me and just missed out by a matter of months. I think he was a bit peeved, but in reality when do you ever need to drive a coach towing a trailer? :tearsofjoy:

...and the fact you don't have a photo to update every ten years.
My dad was sticking to his paper licence and refused to change it, but when my parents moved house a few years ago he was finally forced to get a photocard.

I personally thought the photocard was a much better idea than the paper one as I could fit it in my wallet and use it when I got ID'd. Sadly that's something else that seldom happens now!
