Your Future Plan

So the Towers obviously have their long term plan. I'm interested to know what you would do if you had control of this? What would you do to create more space for rides? Would you move the entrance? Would you invest in 'newness' or revamping existing area/attractions?

If it was down to me, I know people will probably disagree. But I wouldn't create a new entrance at all, I would improve the monorail system instead so its easier to get from the car parks. I would make a new exit to the car parks around the nemesis area, the exit would be totally one way and only usable at the end of the day. I think making improvements to the path from the car parks would also be beneficial, if it would be possible to make the path go closer around the rides I would do that.

I think the path from the car park to the monorail could definitely do with being improved, considering so many people use it!

I'd love a second exit, nothing worse than being in Forbidden Valley at the end of the day and having to make the subsequent journey to the car parks. However, from a business point of view creating a second exit means there would be less footfall through Towers Street at the end of the day and the possibility to lose out on potential sales of merchandise etc. ?

Is this topic for talking about future plans for the park generally, or more for the park infrastructure and entrance situation...? I'm going to presume it's the latter. :)

I would turn the area between Splash and Air into a Downtown Disney-style 'entertainment street', with bars, restaurants and a cinema. I would also add a third hotel here, possibly with the venues being along the front of the hotel, with the rooms behind.

I would also add an entrance here strictly for hotel guests only. All other guests (including MAP holders) will have to get the monorail to a fully modernised and refurbished TowersStreet. This would include a completely glassed-over plaza, so people can queue for and buy their tickets indoors (think BPB's ticketing hall in the casino). Both entrances could be used by all guests to exit the park. :)

All you need is a super casino on park then re build everything

As Sam says a nice downtown disney style area, but not a new hotel there, but revisit the lodge plans.

On the lodge plans I would have a nice Silverlake Saloon-esque eatery and drinkery! In the downtown area, Their will be 2 or 3 bar/restaurants/entertainment venues, all nicely themed, just like the Rainforest cafe/Planet Hollywood at downtown disney, The rest of the street will be full of shops (Lego store obv.) and maybe casino like things.

Could then be linked to the monorail and the golf, renovating the Monorail station while you are at it.

Then host nights where you open up the village and open up Forbidden Valley for night time riding.

I would then concentrate on patching up the park making Nemesis pretty again for the next year or two, perhaps adding low cost flats to bring people in.

Then get rid of flume and replace it with a pirate themed Mack Megacoaster, almost following the same path through the woods the flume took but with added airtime hills, inversions ext. Blue Fire style layout only more ground hugging where the lake and Flume queue is currently.

Thats what I'm thinking thus far.

There's not much I can really think of to change the park. Obviously next year is the family focused year, and it's almost certain that a kiddie coaster will be on the cards, so the only thing I'm not too sure about is what will happen to Sonic Spinball. If the whole of Adventureland and Old Macdonalds Farm is to be turned into a kids area, Spinball may not fit in. It might be good to just move it to Cloud Cuckoo Land.

2015 should see a replacement water ride for The Flume. The ride is beyond tired, and is almost an embarrassment in terms of theming and upkeep. As I'm not an expert on different types of flames, just something more up to date with a better theme would do wonders.

2016 will be the 10th anniversary of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, so in celebration of that fact they should do a complete retheme and make us forget the dullest ride on park ever existed.

By 2017, or maybe even in 2016 if possible, is when they should be looking at the third hotel or resurrecting the lodges. This should be combined with more entertainment off-park, like dining and a cinema.

I like the idea of a small scale City Walk, would be nice to go somewhere to unwind after a day at the park, if only for a couple of hours and would give hotel guests something to do if they didn't want to brave the theme park for two days in a row.

Does the park warrant an extra hotel? Are the two hotels currently reaching a capacity that would justify building another?

Would the lodge style accommodation be focused on longer stays, offering something on a parr with Center Parcs?

Get rid of The Flume and replace with a cross valley CGI woodie. Get rid of Submission and The Blade and put a newer pirate ship in Mutiny Bay.Put a Top Scan in Submission's place

2016 should have a Wing rider put in the Air car park related to The Swarm

Edit - Sazzle - double posts merged

The monorail is past its day and its slow. Why not replace it with a Rita style equivallent but with longer trains - car park to entrance plaza in 10 seconds flat woohoo!

I do like the views of the park on the way though :-/

Destroy Rita, replace with a launching mack megacoaster *drool*

Replace CATCF with just anything.

Install a couple of new good flats. (At least one in dark forest)

why not take Rita and put it next to the monorail station get some straight bits and have express to plaza, for a fee naturally :D

Ill take up the other of putting towers street under a glass roof, very good idea. I would also do something with the path that leads down from the haunted house to forbidden valley. Nothing to commercial maybe a place where you can have a nice little sit down. Nice cuppa in hand (other drinks will be available.) I think shoving merchandise around the park is just tacky.

Next thing replace the flume, (seems already popular) extend mutiny bay out a bit move blade over (give it pirate ship theme) Maybe stick in a launch type ride (or drop such as cliff hanger and flamingo land) Then have a coaster of some sort. I don't know what yet.

The Hotels. I don't think there is a need to add a third. As it could be too gimmicky in my eyes. Extend the AT hotel around so it hugs the car park, have an area for just adult guest, so us people without kids can go to bed and have some piece (past experience of being in a room near the main door to reception. I wanted the escape the entertainment and kids and was not able too at 11 at night?) Also update the hotel rooms, keeping the original explorer theme but just polish it up a bit. More theme rooms.

Monorail. Go back to the individual train theme. Make the stations better looking and bring back the old monorail theme. Do they need to be quicker....................no don't think so its ok as it is, although I would make it easier to see out of the windows.

Sky ride. To have no advertising just a nice little tune to give the idea of flying.

CATCF. Replace, I like it I will admit. But 10 years its time I think. Change it too a toy story type theme, Doctor who something like that. Something more modern and crisp.

Add a car park exit for people going south. main entrance a to be for those going north. Widen the roads around the park, lower the car park price (also take away the car park price for a second day return.)

As much as i'd like to say "cross valley woodie", I think our future plans need to be slightly realistic.

Mutiny Bay is clearly in need of some development, especially The Flume, i'd propose the removal of both The Flume and the Burger Kitchen. Move The Blade over from FV and place it in area in which the Burger Kitchen was, a re-theme to match Mutiny Bay would obviously be needed.

The rest of the area in which The Flume was; install either a Mack super splash or water coaster, I feel it's probably necessary for the replacement of The Flume to be a water-ride of some kind to fill in the missing gap of a "log flume" at the park.

I'd then remove Submission and re-locate Enterprise to the Dark Forest, it'd be pretty easy to theme Enterprise to the "Forest" theme, nothing some plastic branches and paint won't do. I'd then add something such as a top-scan to fill in the area.

And ofcourse, as previously mentioned, the path between FV and Hotels would be ideal for the 'Disney Street', and a big emphasis on entertainment, the lack of it currently is shocking when you compare it to the likes of other European parks.
