The Curse at Alton Manor

The Curse at Alton Manor

There's a house at the heart of Alton Towers that has suffered a terrible fate. Residents past have fallen foul of The Curse at Alton Manor and now roam its halls, seemingly unable to depart this mortal coil.

Due to open in Spring 2023, few details have been revealed about the new ride, but it would seem that the occupants of this haunted house are keen to play and the park have suggested that the new storyline will come with some tricks that have never been seen before in a UK theme park.

Last year, Duel was repossessed after 20 years and closed to be reimagined. At the time unnatural activity was recorded in the area and it would seem that the subsequent investigations have revealed that the property was cursed all along.

Over the winter of 2022/23, after the closure of Duel, the ride has been revamped into The Curse at Alton Manor. It remains to be seen how much of the ride's original theming will remain after its transformation, but we already know significant changes are coming to the Gloomy Garden and Tunnel of Doom scenes.

It is also expected that the finale lab scene has been completely removed, along with all of the zombies added when the ride was turned into Duel. The blaster system and associated targets will also be removed, with the ride returned to a traditional style dark ride.
