Football Discussion

I don't know, you seem to have a few dirty players. Clark, who I think is a decent defender, should have seen a straight red for his elbow on James. That's what causes the subsequent scenes. He also should have got two yellows when he got one; chopped down James in the middle of the park then as the ref plays advantage he runs back and kicks Knockaert over off the ball (alas I don't think you can get a second yellow if you've not yet been booked for the first). Hutton is pure scum as well!

It's not just your players though. Sounds like a lot of Villa fans came to Leicester with the intention of causing trouble. A fight broke out in a city centre pub at 3.30pm and Villa fans were arrested. I have also heard reports of Villa fans waiting outside our family stand after the match looking for a fight. There was a lot of police movement after the game. Anyone would have thought Leeds or Millwall had come to town! We never get any trouble these days, a shame these so called "fans" exist.

:)

That's a rather one sided post. And a little reactionary and not really something I expect from you Rob.

I'm not saying for a moment that some people weren't going looking for a fight, but there was a feeling to the game of retribution from the first match where there was way too much going into tackles.

Villa fans are most certainly not known for causing trouble. In fact we're known for having a ridiculous sense of humour, especially given who we support, our away fans are welcomed openly to many a ground - if there's a section of idiots I hope they're dealt with but your manager going striding into our bench and mouthing off was not helping, and neither did James when he did the same and Clark went off straight down the tunnel.

Villa fans have by and large had enough now of the poor football we're playing, and there's been some silly challenges, Richardson's was dangerous, but Benteke should have not been sent off on his own, Fabian was a bit silly, Gabby got rescinded, and most of our defenders are young and can get a bit desperate in challenges.

I think I've heard phrases like "pure scum" leveled at the likes of Barton, but Hutton? Really? Pure Scum?

If there were any idiots masquerading as football supporters of our great club going round looking for a fight, I don't know a single Villa fan that wouldn't completely deride them for it, but I watched the match, and it was nothing like as one sided as your post makes out. Although playing wise it was. We were atrocious.

Not a fan of Hutton, never have never will be. How he did not see red at Villa Park is still beyond me.

As I said the fans that caused trouble are not proper fans. They are more than likely the lowest in society who have too much to drink and just want to cause a scene. They are the minority, and most clubs have them. It's just a pity they came out yesterday, as I said it has been a long while since we had any football related trouble in Leicester!

We have a very tight bunch of players/staff. I cannot say for sure what happened around the tunnel but both managers brushed it off as much about nothing. Lambert and Pearson were having a smile about it also!

Alas we move on! Also expect bais when I'm talking about my club! :p

:)

You know it's a funny season and your clubs in a massively different place to last year when you have to type:

"WE BEAT BOURNEMOUTH AWAY!!" :D

Happy. Go new Neil!

I'm surprised you can understand what he says! :p

Ahhh, Ya cannae fault the laaads f'effort.

We goooo agin.

Tha final turd.

I think Randy just replaced him with a robot, the interviewer just presses a button for a random response.

Much cheaper.

Bet you're glad you poached him now then ;)

What happened Scott?

Did you replace him with a robot and lock the real one away?

He seemed to do alright with you!

EDIT: Your new manager looks a find. I hope that wasn't a fluke up north, but that calibre of manager makes an impression fast, Fergie did it, Mou did it, Pep did it, not putting him in that bracket by any means but it IS a possibility you've found one!

Lambert is clearly a very specific type of manager: he finds young, hungry players and creates a dynamic squad that is capable of taking a team to a new level. Villa weren't a low-level club needing that kind of guy. I think that's why he's struggled to make the same kind of mark - you need established players who can better themselves rather than gambling on youngsters.

As for our new guy, it's a total surprise pick really. Much like Lambert was a few years back. His credentials North of the border can't be sniffed at and I truly hope he can replicate it down here. The prospects look bright and I am excited though. Phelan and him could prove to be a formidable combination.

I agree, and regard Lambert I just wonder given the type of players he signs, he's perhaps struggling because of the budget he has which is without doubt, tiny.

Vlaar, Okore, Westwood, Benteke, getting Guzan back, getting Delph to finally shine, Cole was brilliant in an earlier match needs a run, Sanchez is settling nicely - he looks a player, Aly Cissoko, Cleverly on loan was good cover, Senderos has looked good when fit, Kozak has great potential, Lowton was doing well not sure what happened - maybe needs this season to settle down again, and Bacuna on his day is brilliant.

So there's a squad there, we've struggled big time with injuries, and when you consider the tiny budget we've had I'd like to see what he can do with a proper budget for a club our size.

When you consider Everton payed 20 odd million for Lukaku, Leicester just spent 10 on their striker, and Stoke have been in for Shaqiri and bought in Bojan it does make me wonder what the heck is going on at Villa.

I know Randy wants to sell, but surely we'd more attractive as a team on the up than one struggling to stay in the prem?

Attractive woman found attractive shock!

FIFA-Ballon-dOr-Gala-2014.jpg

Stephanie Roche

Yes, she happens to have been up for the best goal award, but does anyone think she turned up looking glamorous in the hope of not being noticed?

Why the big fuss that people took photographs? She scored a frankly incredible goal, AND she looks absolutely stunning in that dress - very glamorous!

I don't see people going mad when CR7 fronts up an underwear campaign? People don't scream DON'T OBJECTIFY HIM!!!! Same as Tom Daley for example as shown on this very forum lol!!

It's not like the football world in general wasn't clamouring for her to win, justifiably, the award - but because it's a woman, she's NOT allowed to be glamorous and attractive now? Is that not sexism in reverse? Given how people ogle Ronaldo and Giroud is a male model himself?

Here's the headline:
For a (depressing) moment, these photographers at the Ballon D'Or decided the Irish scorer of a wonder goal was more interesting than Messi and Ronaldo

Well done Stephanie, and yes you're allowed to be a footballer and attractive, and as 1000s of years of evolution can attest... it's quite natural!

Just as stunning as her goal tbh...

I'm gonna guess the headline was from the Daily Mail?

No, off the mark, remember they seem to be happy posting scantily clad youngsters and saying "how she looks like mommy". Always disturbing.

It was The Mirror!

Mind you, that seems to have turned into the lefty alarmist rag, you'd never want to leave your house if you read just The Mirror the Daily Mail.

I think the Tottenham-Sunderland game on Saturday had THE single worst implementation of the offside rule I've ever seen. Vertonghen was onside - he was inside his own half! You can't be offside if you're in your own half when the ball's passed to you! Yes, there was only one player between Vertonghen and the goal, given that Sunderland's goalie had come up to the other penalty area, but the point is that Vertonghen was never offside!

It's quite safe to say that the quality of officiating on the whole this year has been absolutely awful, since pretty much every single team has had some big decision one way or another be called completely wrong...

Hopefully, rather than sending that lino to the Championship, a full few weeks of suspension from the game so he can actually grasp the laws properly is required...

Did you happen to see the fail during Palace's game on Saturday when the Burnley player (forgot who he was) grab hold of Ward before they scored their second? and the referee did nothing? That was disgraceful.
