General Hotel Discussion

Heard that the lockers are also gonna be 20p refundable, instead of the £2 refundable thing too?

If correct, that's a great improvement too!

I would prefer it if they were £1 refundable, I am a lot more likely to have a £1 coin than a 20p. As long as they aren't like my local council swimming pool where you don't get the 20p back.

Are you actually complaining that a locker takes a 20p coin instead of £1?

Not realy complaining, just commenting that I am more likely to have a £1 coin in my wallet than a 20p. Particularly as supermarket trolleys are £1 so I am more likely to have £1s.

Dont think it matters if its 20p, 50p, £1, £2 - as long as you get it back....

Maybe this is due to the change in the pound coins which is coming shortly, and the cost involved in changing the mechanisms over so they have chosen the good old 20p instead.

If they offer a machine that can exchange coins for 20p coins I think that would come in handy. I too would be more likely to have a quid on me rather than 20p. Hopefully they've thought about that though.

I am sure there were change machines before, so no doubt there will be again, if not there is always the reception!

Am I right in thinking that it used to be 20p before? Then they added the 2 X £1 and you would only get one back, which caused quite a lot of complaints.

Last time I went you got both £1 cons back. But that could have been a change following complaints.

I think it was yes, they tried charging for a little while (where you only got one of your two £1 coins back) but it did not go down well! So they swiftly changed it so you did get all your money back.

:)

Just to inform y'all the Water Park reopened midday yesterday! I'm sure some people will be down soon to check out the improvements :)

It's looking like a fresh coat of paint and a good clean from i saw yesterday looking good though

I didn't go in, but had a quick look on Friday and quite a bit of the waterpark has been repainted. I am also sure the floor of the main pool might have also been done? If not it has been cleaned.

Wacky Waterworks is very inconsistent with features working. I don't think I've ever visited the Waterpark and seen everything working. Either the features break quickly or they don't maintain the area often enough.

In other news Leak Signs have posted this on Facebook. At Extraordinary Golf the Air hole has had its curved wall sign replaced:

About time they replaced it! Last time I had a round of golf in 2012 the wall was a battered mess and filthy. Glad to see they've updated it. Small things make a difference.

Just a quick update but the seats in the Altrium and Dragon Bar have been changed. They are now leather (maybe pleather - not sure) with what appears to be more tables and chairs in the Dragon Bar. It looks quite nice tbh.

They really need to get a move on with the hotel refurbishment plans. At the rate they're going with the rooms it will be 5 years until all rooms are up to date, then another 5 years to get any communal areas refurbished...

I think the eventual plan is for all the rooms to be themed in the same manner as the moon rooms, but there will be different themes on each floor.

The trouble they have is the hotel is still quite busy for most of the closed season, it's only really mid Jan to mid March they can lose the rooms for refurb. But I agree they need to speed up.
