Imagine the turbo it will go into once planning is accepted/revealed then when ground is broken and we start vertical construction.

Be thousands of pages lol!!

Either that or by then this will be named www.Deutsch-Allee.com

I think i will cry if when it opens there is not a 1969 italian job ride

A new video's been posted showing a lot more concept art for the park. If this is half as good as what we see on there then it will be by far the closest thing to Disney/Universal yet built!

This really is going to happen everyone. I hope that Merlin have woken up and taken account of this. If they aren't involved in the startup, then they should be thinking of what they are going to do to combat this. Hopefully they will wake up and actually invest in their southern parks.

^ But Merlin wont see this as a threat until it happens.... and then moan about VAT rates, rather than actually combat by investing in the park.

I don't feel sorry for Merlin, I just hope it wont impact on Adventure Island or Dreamland... :(

Merlin's only worries will be Thorpe and Chessie really. I could see them potentially selling one of them off (probably Chessie). All their other parks I doubt will be hit by this. Maybe as this park develops over years we might see a new change of strategy although Merlin are one step ahead owning parks with better hardware and established names in the theme park industry.

Curious that the video has major spelling mistakes and the link to the Facebook page is wrong.

That's either fake or their social media team need firing!

Parc Astèrix never suffered from DLP opening, and if anything it's probably had the opposite effect.

But then Astèrix is very well run park.
It's not that well run!

But the other bit is true.

I hope Alton Towers doesn't suffer negatively.

I am almost certain that video is fake along with the Facebook page it links to. The official streams have not referenced this video and have never mentioned the second "London Paramount Entertainment Resort" Facebook page.

:)

Yeah, the FB page linked to at the end isn't the official one. Not sure why someone's gone to the effort of mixing all that music and doing the voiceover etc though!

That's going to be down to a matter of opinion, but on all my visits to Asterix I found the park to be exceptional. From throughput on the rides, to cleanliness, staff attitudes etc. And they seem to be making very wise decisions with regards to new attractions.

The only problem I had with Asterix was the queue jumpers. I was impressed with their throughputs and whatnot. But I have only been there once, so it may have been a one off.

It's frustrating how many people have been fooled by this page :p Have to admire their effort though:

Riiight..

As for the impact on other parks in the UK, I'm also hoping it won't impact Dreamland as this is a special project I would hate to see unsuccessful. Thorpe and Chessington will have competition, I'm just hoping that Merlin have the sense to rise to the challenge and invest more in them - a good kick up the arse is what is needed :)
