Your Top Worst Coasters

As above, Colossus features in my top ten. Roughness doesn't bother me that much, I can take a few knocks.
I think it depends on height if you can survive an intamin. I found collossus painful when I hit my ears and side of head on the restraints (who thought they were a good idea?).

Another bad coaster (well, not a coaster really) is any disko. The ride is fine, but the restraints stop you from breathing.

I like Colossus, and I think if the roughness were ever to be sorted out, it would be a brilliant ride. The way the coaster itself is landscaped is really well done and the atmosphere and themeing around the ride was brilliant at the time of opening.

1: Rita. Pain and slow. Enough said
2: slammer. Gives me the worst headache
3: Zodiac. I hate everything about because it sucks

I think Colossus is awful! I agree that it's landscaped brilliantly and the whole area as spectacle looks great! It's a joy to watch. But it's just no fun to ride. It starts off OK but half way through the cobra it stops being fun and is just torture to anyone over the age of 30 after that for the rest of the ride. Great coaster to watch, rubbish to ride.

Well, I suppose with me being a slim (but tall) 20 year old, I can tolerate it a bit more :p I do know older people who aren't fans of it though, and around the half way point it can seem a bit dull (for me it's after the second corkscrew). But I still think it's fun to ride personally despite the roughness.

I'm not old don't get me wrong (mid 30's and could do with loosing a few lbs) but I definitely notice the pain more than the experience and imo the heartlines (especially the last one) are poorly thought out fillers and there for the he'll of it.

When I get off Saw, my shoulders hurt, my head/ears have probably been hit and I usually have a headache but I feel exhilarated and want to go again. I only feel the former after Colossus.

This is a hard one because the rubbish ones I tend to forget about because they aren't memorable.

I think that a lot of the ones I'm thinking of only stick in my mind because I find them to be over rated.

In no particular order:

1. Air: very dull layout, not at all intense and also very uncomfortable

2. Revolution: again very over rated, not much point to it now that we have better quality launch coasters and better looping coasters, don't see much point to this ride anymore to be honest

3. Hero (flamingo land): very dull and painful in places, a poor replacement for the Wild Mouse

4. Kanonen (Liseberg): the launch slows down half way through which I find odd and the layout is dull even for a compact launch coaster

5. Cagliostro (Rainbow Magicland Rome): not sure how many people have ridden this but it's what id say is the worst spinning coaster and worst dark coaster I've ridden. Has anyone been on this who might agree or dispute this?

6. Temple of the Knight Hawk (Phantasialand): I know that loads of people on here will have ridden this and it's another very pointless dark coaster with little of any interest and quite nauseating.

7. El Diablo (PortAventura): I don't even need to explain this one

5. Cagliostro (Rainbow Magicland Rome): not sure how many people have ridden this but it's what id say is the worst spinning coaster and worst dark coaster I've ridden. Has anyone been on this who might agree or dispute this?

I would agree. On the outside it looks like a good ride but then it's just a black box on the inside. I'm not sure it would sit in my worst 10 though. I'll try and post mine in the next few days

I am pleased to say that Stampida will no longer feature in my wooden spoon listing. Although it is by no means great, the re-tracking so far has made a big difference and the first 40% of the ride is far smoother and faster than it was. Bring on the rest of the re-tracking.

This took some real consideration and in the end I decided to go with coasters that were in someway 'offensive' to me, rather than coasters that I think are just boring / poorly designed. I came up with this list in the end, in no particular order;

El Condor (Walibi Holland) - Was a toss up between this and Limit as only wanted to include 1 SLC but Limit seemed to have improved slightly on my second visit to Heide. Tbh, most SLC's could occupy this spot :p I remember El Condor being particuarly rough, and will always remember having to get on with the loading platform randomly going up and down lol.

Shockwave (Kings Dominion) - Togo stand up that has now been removed, this was a very unpleasant ride and the restraints were just hilariously bad!

Sequoia Adventure (Gardaland) - What were they smoking?!? Why, just why!

G-Force (Drayton Manor) - Really hate the inverted lift thing, the queue is horrendous and throughputs laughable. The actual ride itself off the lift isn't TOO offensive I guess....

Soarin' Eagle (Screamzone / Luna Park) - Zamperla Volare, enough said I think :)

Tornado (Bakken) - Possibly the most aggressive / violent ride that I've ever experienced, I found this deeply unpleasant!

Furious Baco (Port Aventura) - Great if you need your spine rearranging! Launch is good but what follows is a mediocre layout fraught with pain.

Nighthawk (Carowinds) - Vekoma Flying Dutchman that is massively rudimentary compared to it's B&M counterparts, with all the Vekoma roughness to go with it! Saying that, laying on your back whilst stuck on the brake run is surprisingly comfy!

Hurler (Kings Dominion) - Incredibly rough woody that literally rattles your teeth out on that first turn :(

Mean Streak (Cedar Point) - Whilst not particuarly rough compared to some of the woodies I've ridden, it's by no means comfortable and earns it's place here mainly due to lost potential. It's so damn huge but just seems to do so little with it, I just feel it could have been so much more (similar to how I feel about PMBO). Would love to see RMC do something with this coaster :)

If I was to include coasters I could fall asleep on, then Cagliostro, Temple of the Nighthawk, Dizz and Superdooperlooper would be right up there!

Mine mirrors Matts except for Mean Streak as I think it's alright. Maybe because it's at Cedar Point people expect more then get let down?

Furius Baco, PortAventura
What more can be said? Yes, the launch is great, but it starts shaking as soon as you enter the first turn. It's rough, uncomfortable, and is probably the worst rollercoaster I've ever been on.

Bandit, Movie Park Germany
The layout is perfectly decent, but it's completely ruined by the trains. It shakes horribly, and when a group of us went on it back in July last year, one or two of us actually felt rather unwell after we got off it!

Infusion, Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Vekoma SLC. It's rough, and I had a bit of a headache when I got off it. Not pleasant at all. MP-Express at Movie Park Germany is a better ride overall, even though they've both got exactly the same layout!

Magnus Colossus, Terra Mítica
As with Bandit at Movie Park Germany, the ride has a decent layout, but the trains seem to ruin it somewhat. It's very rough, and when I went on it back in 2009, I couldn't get comfortable on it at all, no matter whether I held onto the bars on the restraint itself or the bars on the front of the train!

Roller Coaster, Wicksteed Park
It's a Pinfari, which doesn't give it much hope anyway. The ride's got a small footprint, and it doesn't really do much either, but for some bizarre reason, it's got OTSRs, even though it doesn't go upside-down! Now, I know there are some exceptions to this rule (OTSRs being used on several non-inverting Intamin launched coasters, and over-the-shoulder lap restraints being used on Mack's Launched and Mega coasters), but with this one, it genuinely seems completely unnecessary!

Trace du Hourra, Park Astérix
The problem I have with this ride is that as soon as it gets going, you hit yet another MCBR. Poor effort from a ride that should offer more.

PMBO, Blackpool Pleasure Beach
It looks decent, but it's just not that good. The 'airtime hills' are so long and drawn-out that there's hardly any airtime available at all. I know there are some people who say that with the right wind conditions on the right day, you do get airtime on it, but that's not good enough to me - a rollercoaster such as PMBO should be consistent in its offering in terms of airtime on every day it operates. Not just when the wind conditions are right.

Many people would say that PMBO was never meant to be all about the airtime and that the brief for that ride was to just build a massive iconic coaster with big drops. It certainly fulfills that, I know that other hypers deliver plenty of airtime but I'm really not sure that was what PMBO was supposed to be about.

Painful this, headache that, load of tosh.
Having to brace yourself and endure the roughness is part of the experience for me.
Furious Baco is a brilliant ride, the launch is amazing.
As is colossus, Saw, and any other coaster that is deemed "uncomfortable" and "rough"
Jeez world first folks a coaster with pillows and a foot rest.

Baco a brilliant ride? Rougness part of the experience? Must be exactly the reason that PA have closed off the outside seats on rows 1, 5 and 6. Come on, even they accept that it is awful and uncomfortable.

I have just returned from PA and can confirm that Baco is now even worse than when I visited in 2013. My final ride on it was the outside seat of row 2 and the shaking all of the way around was constant and severe. It is not just uncomfortable, it is painful. It can't be doing the ride itself any good either, you can hear the train shaking itself to pieces. I just cannot describe how bad it is.

Another point regarding Baco that has been made before is the layout. Even if the ride was smooth and rode like Helix it would still be a poor coaster as the layout does nothing. It's just a few turns taken at a constant speed with a token inversion thrown in. There is no way Baco can ever be considered good, smooth or rough.

:)
