Maybe with the VR goggles on it will have glass windows ;)

It already looks dated. Even until last season the Air shop looked contemporary/futuristic. It would be a shame to completely lose that look. I'm not asking for an Evoluon shaped building but I hope they make it a little less meh!

I gave this some thought.

If there was one ride that would have benefited hugely from AR, not full VR - it's a certain ride in the Dark Forest.

Could have done something spectacular with the Crypt and the backwards tunnel.

Considering this is being dubbed the "premium offering", and the overall delivery will be overseen by an external company, I'm fairly confident it won't be the 'overpriced rubbish' you claim it will be.

The food on the resort side of things is mostly enjoyable and leagues ahead of the cardboard crap served on park, and with this restaurant catering for resort guests as well anyone who happens to turn up JUST for this restaurant, it's not going to comfortably sit in the same bracket of food quality.

The service however... well, that remains to be seen.

It may be the same building materials but it currently has none of the aesthetic charm of the original Air Shop at all.

Where are the curves? Where are the accents of greeny blue? The Air Shop was sleek and (still) pretty stylish. This currently looks like a metal box stuck on the side. I hope that there is some charm to come yet...

It could have been worse, at least they didn't stick a shipping container on the side :p lol...

As the building extension is only the exit of Galactica & the shop, I really don't mind what it looks like. Granted having pored over the planning application I didn't expect it to look quite as boxey, but never mind!

With the photo op being in the queue line now, the new space doesn't exactly need to be big and so I'm not overly concerned :).

How do hotel guests get to the restaurant out of hours?

No I've not been but if any of other of the parks food is to go by I don't want to. Overpriced rubbish.
Overpriced? Probably, though it would be premium you'd be paying for. It will be expensive, but maybe it will be worth it.

Rubbish? No. Have you seen the menu? I've never even heard of some of the things on there! It serves three course meals. This is not going to be like a burger kitchen.

RE: the box on the end of the building: I don't like it that much, but it's a small thing, and its not finished yet. When I see it in person, maybe I'll feel different, but at the moment, I don't think it's going to really matter.

Hello. Long time reader and decided to post finally and share what i've heard (from a pretty reliable source) about Galactica. So the theme is composed by IMA Score and will be over double the length of the old Air theme. EVE is voiced by a female but is not introduced to us until the preshow area. The most interesting element however is that the "voice of the ride" during this refurb has been switched from a middle aged woman, to a man. I've personally never heard the voice of the guy who is voicing the ride's weather, technical and miscellaneous announcements (I tried to search his name for a showreel) but hopefully it won't detract from EVE and I believe this guy's voice is meant to represent that of the Galactica Engineering and Experience teams.

I've also been told that the VR will be having its own unique ride track which will vary on the embarkation to different destinations, but those who wish not to use VR will have a few new aesthetic elements to engage with inside the tunnel, up the lift hill and on the break run but I'm unsure on what these elements will be.

Oh think of the mops, where will they live now! I hope they have a new habitat to go to.

They will start a kind of protection program for ex-theme mops, a sanctuary if you will.

They will put them in a concrete tunnel and fence it off (of course) and visitors can go to a feeding machine, put a quid in, and receive a bag of used chewing gum to throw in to their habitats to feed them.

There will be a breeding program also, where I envisage they will release young mops across other Merlin parks, for various duties, to ensure their survival long term.

This will be in addition to the very successful "satellite" breeding program, and the but more private, "Shipping Container & Scaffolding" cross breeding attempts, which thus far has resulted in only disturbing failed results such as the THORPE SHARK thing.

Who posted this on Facebook?

Doesn't look that good just now, but then again that's probably because it's not finished yet...
