Fireworks 2016

The whole setup looks brilliant in person, really interesting, feels kind of sad I can't make it to fireworks this year!

Lights were testing tonight and heard some brief testing of speakers that are being set up. Lots of activity this weekend and lots of teams on site getting it all set up. Looking forward to seeing what the show brings!

I too saw the lights testing last night and they are very impressive and totally different to previous years. The lights facing the audience on the rig are very bright. The screen also seems to work well. I'm intrigued now as to how the show turns out.

As has been pointed out, the sound set-up does look better this year as well.

:)

Will Towers Street be recording the event? Sadly I can't make it this year but would love to see the show. :)

There are always people there filming the event on their cameras/phone etc..

I know some people race to try and be the first one to post the show on Youtube moments after the show finishes.

I'm not going to mention names

Do people think the place might fill to capacity this weekend given the event is only on for 2 days?

Sunday should be fine but it is expected that the park will be extremely busy on Saturday. The capacity of the park is down due to closed rides (so no chance of the 29,000 they got on the Saturday in 2010) but at a guess it's possible that over 20,000 could turn up and I doubt capacity is much more than 22,000 - 25,000.

I'm not sure if we are filming it or not, I don't know of any plans to do so. I'm sure it will be filmed by various people though and end up on YouTube.

:)

don't the fireworks company themselves film some of the display by drone, and towers film the whole thing? I wouldn't worry about a lack of videos.

I dont think Towers did an official video last year. I know they did the year before, but last years focused mainly on the ending.

Last year they only released a video of the finale.

Once the weekend is over you get a few good quality videos of the entire show. I usual go through them all and find the best one to watch. Plenty of people film the show and upload online these days.

Youtube are seriously clamping down on 3rd party music in videos, if one does appear of decent quality then the chances are it'll get muted or removed due to copyright infringement :(

I'm subscribed to PyroWorld on Youtube and about 75% of their videos are muted or removed due to copyright. Sucks really

I may be wrong but I think park capacity is more to do with what's safe for the general layout, the area, and in the lawns/firework arena. They won't turn down business unless they have to, if they're allowed 30,000 or whatever it is then they'll sell it accordingly. So I expect the park to be ridiculously busy given the number of closures. All hotels/lodges are sold out already.

Expect vertical video on a shakey hand held phone that's constantly pointing the wrong way, under exposed and distorted sound... ;)

Goddamit I hate vertical video. It's a crime!

Vimeo is the best place for firework videos. I would imagine Jubilee will have their own video on Vimeo if the park doesn't.

Havent they already sold over 20000 tickets for Saturday tho ? o_O people are going to be turned away :D

They will absolutely not have sold over 20,000 tickets on Saturday. The amount of over-exaggeration that goes around (mainly from staff!!!!) is crazy.

However, there may well be over 20,000 on park on Saturday. Made up of a high number of MAP holders. But pre-sales on the website will be nowhere near 20,000.

I expect Saturday to be a difficult day in terms of food/drink/rides.

:)
