Today Towers was very chilled, Smiler main queue was inside the building most of the afternoon.

It's been really sad to see the rapids so deserted on busy days with good weather recently with more people being turned away than being allowed through :(

I waited 40 min for the Rapids last week.

The rapids were dire on Saturday. I mean, really bad. Health and Safety total meltdown. 4 or 5 staff on the turntable and one poor guy running back and forth a stop button had someone not sat down in the boat by the time it reached a red mark on one of the posts.

The ride op speaking through the tannoy every 30 seconds "ladies and gentlemen the platform is about to speed up/slow down, please do not enter/exit the boats", lifeguard looking over the ramp which pulls the boats back up out of the water, then the ride itself...... only 1 wave machine was turned on and that was the first one you come to. Lights on in the RMT tunnel, water level was definitely lower and the did more spinning round and round than splashing, no waterfalls, it was just really really poor.

I appreciate why they have done it, but, it just goes to show how H&S being taken to the extreme can just wreck what was a fun and generally safe ride if people obeyed the rules.

Queue time was about 20 minutes on Saturday for us.

are you mad?!
I went on yesterday and found it to have become a very boring and insipid ride to what it was.
Just no life to it, no character no nothing
There just seams little point in putting in the effort to walk to KC for whats there now.
Roll on getting the pathway opened back up

I think you must have had a bad experience. There are more staff on the ride this season however I have not noticed the turntable speed changes being any more frequent than in the past during my visits. The waterfalls are obviously off at the moment but all wave machines (bar the one that has been broken for as long as I can remember) have been on during my visits.

It's a bit boring towards the end with no waterfalls but apart from that I have found the Rapids as fun as ever! Got pretty soaked last weekend as well.

:)

The rapids doesn't have the same charm to it this year as it had over the past few years.

First of all, I know it's temporary but, from opening day this season it has felt isolated with the MB to KC footpath blocked off. Secondly when the incident at Drayton happened and they turned off the water effects, again understandable but it does turn the best part of the ride into the most boring part of it. The waterfall now has weeds overgrown through the rockwork and it doesn't look pretty.

Hopefully the ride gets some well deserved TLC over the closed season with the effects turned back on and hedges/plants being cut back and the KC audio playing in the queue line again.

On another note however, I do like how they have added subtle bits of theming to the ride this year, it just makes the ride that bit better in terms of atmosphere.

At the start of the season I think that the rapids where at the best they have been in a long time, doubt they will ever be the same due to health and safety.

I think some investment is needed in the Rapids. Obviously what happened in Drayton was extremely sad but Stripping the ride back isn't the right way forward.

I was at Thorpe Park yesterday and they have their waterfall turned on (no guns though). Not sure why AT are persisting with keeping them switched off, as others are saying it's a pretty boring part of the ride.

Galactica's current queue time is 'approximately' 6 1/2 hours. It must be running a 1 seat operation today. lol

Enterprise 0 mins
Spinball Whizzer 0 mins
Nemesis 5 mins
The Smiler 15 mins
Galactica 400 mins
TH13TEEN Open 10:30
Rita Open 10:30
Oblivion Unavailable

Why is this getting the same amount of queues as Kraken Unleashed despite having no virtual queue or being as new as Kraken Unleashed, Not to mention Towers is a smaller park than Seaworld.

Inb4 virtual queues on Galactica.
