Chessington World of Adventures Resort

I must say that the only time I have ever been to Chessington it was just a zoo.
I have no recollection, it was half a century ago...but apparently there were absolutely no queues at all, and the whole family had a lovely day...for less than a fiver.
Always wanted to go back to ride Vampire, but been scared as I would stand out rather as a solo adult male...same reason I don't do Legoland.
Hey, if you ever want someone to go Chessington with, I'm your man. Don't worry about what other people might think, just enjoy yourself :)

Ooooh! Looks nice! With this and SW8, I think we could be seeing theming on a whole new level come from Merlin in the future. I'm not talking Disney or Universal levels, but a big amount for Merlin. Not that Merlin doesn't do excellent theming currently, but this looks like they are raising the bar in terms of theme and experience, possibly even exceeding the level that The Swarm has.

It looks okay, I suppose
I'll still miss the old
What becomes of the dragon?

(My haiku)

Terror Tomb is now no more
Bubbleworks is dead
Chessington is a stranger

:(

Oh, and seriously. What is happening with the dragon that you used to go into the mouth of?
I assumed they would paint it to make it resemble a Tiger, but then I realised it would just look like a Dragon wearing Tiger stripes...

Does anyone know how much Land of the Tiger/Tiger Rock is costing? On Wikipedia it says that the revamp is costing $14million, which converts to £10,630,200 in British currency. This might only be me, but that seems an awful lot of money for a low year at Chessington, especially since I believe the original Dragon Falls only cost £4million, I believe? And this is only a retheme, after all.

Does it cite any sources at all? Can’t see this figure from a quick scan of the article, but what a quick scan does show me is how much of the article is un-cited speculation lol

Sorry to stray off topic, but the old Mystic East theming sort of reminds me of some theming in a dream I once had where we visited a theme park and my Dad chucked me over a ride area fence to see if I could fly. Alas, I couldn't fly and I hit the ground... and that is where I woke up.
