SeaWorld Orlando: General Discussion

I just messaged a friend who was at the park yesterday and she said that Mako was running just like opening day. I find it very hard to believe that a modern B&M hyper is anywhere near rough.

Personally, I think row 7 is the best because of how you get whipped over the first drop but as you say, every row is great.
Thank goodness for that! I was beginning to worry that my top coaster would have become a painful jolt machine by the time I next got to ride it.

Come to think of it, in Taylor Bybee's (Coaster Studios) review of Mako, he said that it couldn't be smoother and it was his favourite B&M Hyper, topping even the likes of Behemoth. Not topping Fury, though.

Rather ironically they have been hitting significant ground water issues but the ride is still on track for a summer opening, once the groundwork is done the build is far quicker and simpler than a rollercoaster. Ride parts should be on site very soon.

I didn't realise the Terrace was staying and the ride was only being built over the garden in front of it. That doesn't give them a massive amount of space for a Rapids ride. I do hope the rides signature element (the huge drop) isn't the only element!

Don't worry, the ride is over 5 minutes long and features two traditional lift hills in addition to the vertical elevator lift :)

I'd treat any statistics given by Intamin with a pinch of salt. Who knows what they will need to amend to have it work even semi-reliably.

There shouldn't be too many problems, all the tech on this ride has been tried and tested on previous projects.

This is Intamin. They screw up tech that they invented themselves, hence why virtually no one in the Western world is going anywhere near them.

Intamin have done some great projects with SeaWorld recently, Cheetah Hunt, Falcon's Fury & Wave Breaker are all great attractions and despite a few hiccups before Falcon's Fury opened, all seem to be running well now.

Before this topic, I hadn't clocked quite how Intamin's influence has waned over the past few years, with only Busch sticking by them. Cheetah Hunt was nearly seven years ago!

Didn't Cheetah Hunt have a fair number of issues and needed some re-designing later on in the project?

It's funny how Busch are now sticking by Intamin when for years they wouldn't go anywhere near them...

It had some techical difficulties as it to be expected with most new rides but no re-design was needed :)

I'm sure there was something, the Chairlift is coming to mind (possibly under-estimating the space required) but I could just as easily be confusing it for the Maverick inversion removal, or half their new rides requiring trims, or generally creating unique rides that stay unique because they're utterly horrid...

This was uploaded to youtube a while back and has tested as a TV advert in California recently and it will be going national early in the new year. The SeaWorld slogan has also changed from "Real. Amazing." to "From Park to Planet".

According to Midway Mayhem's latest update from SeaWorld, you now have to be 58" tall to experience the VR on Kraken Unleashed. This is 4ft 10in for those of you who work in feet and inches or 1.47m for those of you who work in metric. This is a very interesting change that no other park has made. But don't worry if you are under 4ft 10in, though, as the park still has the usual 54" height restriction to experience the normal attraction without VR.
