Towers Loving Care

Its funny Ive read a couple comments on here about the Hex audio sounding fine. I think there must be spots in the room where the audio isnt as bad, because the issue is literally impossible not to notice if youre in the wrong place. It really hurts the ears and I noticed lots of the public wincing as it played, it isn't just a little technical thing that only audio techs would notice.

The lighting in the octagon was also reprogrammed with the wrong timing - the 'generator' is meant to spark out with pyrotechnics and a strobe, as the lights immediately blackout like a power cut. putting the room in darkness while the s u p e r n a t u r a l things happen to you.

Instead now, it feels really odd and random. I watched it back on a video to check why it felt this way now. The generator strobes (with a weird sort of LED fault, the same in Duel) but no spark, the lights dip but come back weirdly, then after a delay the room eventually blacks out on the wrong cue. Then the 'work' lights come back on the billowing curtain, instead of the dimmer spookier blue lighting originally meant for the billowing curtain.

Whoever reprogrammed it seemed like they didnt understand the scene. I remember it being very effective originally in the early 2000s, but now it feels sort of random with lights going up and down for no reason.

There were improvements made like the Octagon getting its old screens back for the proper blackout effect, the repaired curtain, which was great. But I just hope they realise they actually messed the show & audio up, swallow their pride and get it altogether, then it would be a faultless job. :)

On the 30th of oct, I went in hex and the octagon TV screens still did the residual light thing, I thought they fixed that!?

Actually, I remember going in at the start of the year and the octagon TV's fully turned off then...I hope the last few CTRs haven't crapped out :(

I think they started posting around 8th January last year. I too am looking forward to seeing this finished Nemesis track, especially since half painted track is their Facebook cover photo!

So their first update should be on the day of the SW8 announcement? Interesting... the page might give us an idea of what to expect. Wouldn't surprise me, as the Towers Loving Care page was the one that initially told us where SW8 was to be located.

You mean you expect them to install a whole new ride and continue with basic upkeep? Madness!
This is sarcasm right? :p
Since the team/s building SW8 will be very different teams to people involvd in the park's basic upkeep, other than some on the presentation side who'll be involved in the handover of the coaster and taking on its running ready for opening

I thought that they considered the track finished, and just needed to paint the back and roof of the station? Not that I'd be against adding additional wear effects to the track, of course.

Did they ever actually say that? Not sure.

If they consider that finished when it's blatantly half done then it looks a complete car crash.

The roof on Nemesis's station looked to be virtually complete last month.

I've just been reminded that, in the last tweet on the Twitter account, they said Duel would get further treatment next closed season (right now!?). But not sure whether I should hope for this to mean more than someone going around with a duster and some Febreeze! ;)

There were definitely plans early last season (beyond just aspirations) to refurbish Duel over this closed season, but we've yet to hear anything is actually taking place. The budget for this season isn't looking good, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's scaled back.

Budget cuts mean this years tlc will be a few painted bins and fences

Re hex going back a few posts, they clearly don’t understand modern light tech - it’s appalling

Shame really.

You're having a laugh aren't you? Have you seen the cost of Fabreeze these days? It'll be Sainsburys basics Air Freshener spray and a duster bought from Proudland.

Duel is such a disaster, even pre budget cuts there would not have been enough cash to sort it out. Expect the atrocious final zombie scene to still be in place but smell of Freesia and Jasmine and free of cobwebs. So free of cobwebs infact that you can see the ceiling and walls of the warehouse as well as the fan in the roof, clearer than you ever have before!

Yeah...you can tell its gotten to the " rip out and start again" stage when catching glimpses of the roof fan is genuinely a more effective scare then anything in this GHOST TRAIN RIDE!

Specifically, seeing one of the unlit screaming faces (that weird bit before the garden) passing in front of the fan.

I don't remember Duel being that bad when I last rode it. Bear in mind, this was 2014, but it was good for its age and for its audience.
