Its funny Ive read a couple comments on here about the Hex audio sounding fine. I think there must be spots in the room where the audio isnt as bad, because the issue is literally impossible not to notice if youre in the wrong place. It really hurts the ears and I noticed lots of the public wincing as it played, it isn't just a little technical thing that only audio techs would notice.
The lighting in the octagon was also reprogrammed with the wrong timing - the 'generator' is meant to spark out with pyrotechnics and a strobe, as the lights immediately blackout like a power cut. putting the room in darkness while the s u p e r n a t u r a l things happen to you.
Instead now, it feels really odd and random. I watched it back on a video to check why it felt this way now. The generator strobes (with a weird sort of LED fault, the same in Duel) but no spark, the lights dip but come back weirdly, then after a delay the room eventually blacks out on the wrong cue. Then the 'work' lights come back on the billowing curtain, instead of the dimmer spookier blue lighting originally meant for the billowing curtain.
Whoever reprogrammed it seemed like they didnt understand the scene. I remember it being very effective originally in the early 2000s, but now it feels sort of random with lights going up and down for no reason.
There were improvements made like the Octagon getting its old screens back for the proper blackout effect, the repaired curtain, which was great. But I just hope they realise they actually messed the show & audio up, swallow their pride and get it altogether, then it would be a faultless job.
