Flat Rides: What would you like to see come to the park?

There have been a few old discussions related to this but nothing that goes too far in depth from what I can tell. Simple question really, what flats would you like at the park, where would you put them and how would you theme them?

As discussed by quite a few of us when at Liseberg back in July 2016, a Gerstlauer Polyp in Dark Forest could work. It's a fun ride, and could be themed to fit in as something like twisted vines. A bit clichéd, I know, but I'll take whatever I can get to have more flats at Towers.

This is what I think.

Forbidden Valley
– one new family flat, and one new thrill flat in place of Ripsaw. At the moment there is a serious lack of things that are suitable for younger children in this area of the park, and means a lot of back and forth walking for groups / families with childeren of different ages. A flat ride replacement for Ripsaw, as well as a new family flat ride, possibly given a space theme to tie in with Galactica.

Dark Forest – one new thrill flat. I think there is room for a flat, and it'd be highly beneficial for the land, absorbing the large crowds that the area attracts.

Cloud Cuckoo Land – one new family flat, in addition to the land's retheme. The new flat ride would be to cater for the lack of family rides in the Dark Forest, and as CCL isn't a long walk away, should mean that there isn't any problems with lack of thrill or family rides in each area.

X-Sector – one new family flat. At the moment, there is just nothing for younger people to do in the area, as Enterprise will often been seen as too scary, even if children are tall enough to ride it.

Intamin gyro swing with the new restraints seen on Loke. They'd probably need to dig a hole but that's nothing new for Towers. :p Could go in Dark Forest maybe, or to replace Blade.

Also, a suspended top spin to replace Ripsaw. Seems obvious to me, Ripsaw was very popular and always gathered an audience.

:)

I'd like a Gerstlauer Sky Roller or Sky Fly at Alton Towers, personally. They look like great fun, and hopefully I'll get to experience one for the first time in August (Skyforce at BPB)!

A Sky Fly would work but a Sky Roller would be too tall (Unless they dug a pit of course :p).

At this point I'd settle for even an Air Race or a new inverting pirate ship. Towers are in desperate need of rides to soak of queues and it almost doesn't even matter what those rides are anymore.

It'd be nice if they were well spaced out and some effort was made to get them to fit into their respective areas though (eg- an Air Race attraction could go near Galactica as a sort of "pre-mission flight school" themed attraction).

If there is any way to get Sub Terra running again that should also return.

Dodgems, and lots of them.
Love the Blackpool ones in the rain.
Miss them at Lightwater as well.
Dodgems went for the Angry Turds,
and they scrapped the pub in the wood at the same time.
Could put 2 sets in, one for little kids, and a hotter set in forbidden valley in the ripsaw hole.

An updated version of ripsaw would be great as I miss that ride so much! A family friendly space themed flat would work too to tie in with galactica in forbidden valley. Something is needed near thirteen., would a spinning coaster like cobra work along the theme of mystic forces spinner? And something in x sector. How much would that lot cost? Less than a sw and would have a greater impact on customer satisfaction!

Personally, I would stick two flats in forbidden valley; one by galactica (somewhere), and one on the former ripsaw site. Ideally both would be highly themed to add to the area, with one of them being a thrill flat and one for the kids. This would round out the area very nicely as currently there isn’t anything for younger kids. I would definitely add one in dark forest by thirteen, either thrill or kid would work well given the selection of coasters in the area but whatever it is, high throughput is necessary given the reliability of the two coasters in the area. In terms of x-sector, I’d remove enterprise and replace it with another thrill flat and add another thrill flat on the former site of submission. Perhaps one could relate to the theme of the smiler and another could be tied into oblivion somehow. It would be cool to see the development of these two rides a little bit more through the use of flats.

I think most areas should get ans extra flat or two.

I'd love a drop tower next to oblivion (maybe on submissions site), but dug into the ground, and with loading at the top not at the bottom. You get on a ground level, but the drop is beneath you not above you, and you can't see how low it goes.

Dark Forrest needs a high capacity family flat ride, something similar to the old Boneshaker.

I'm another that is keen to see Ripsaw replaced with a like for like.

You mean like Haunted Mine Drop at Glenwood Caverns?

Basically, any flat thrill ride would be welcome at ATR. It's ridiculous to think a park of it's size only has 2 x 30 year old flat thrill rides and nothing to soak up the queues from the coasters.

Something like the 30 seat Zamperla revolution would make such a difference and would be affordable over a couple of low investment years. Would it be allowed due to the height restrictions though?
