Towers Loving Care

@RoyJess I'd agree if it was presented like other rides with a note elsewhere on the site, but the image is darkened and you can barely make out what the ride is due to the size of the text over the top of it telling you that it's shut.

Not everyone has perfect eye sight and there are still people in today world that can't read. It's just not us adults that look at the website, children do too. Anything that is misleading in the eyes of the law, even if it's in the slightest is against the law. Having these SBNO rides listed on the website is misleading, however you look at it.

I don't think it's ideal having it on the website, but come on, it is not breaking the law!

:)

If it's misleading then yes it is breaking the law under the FTA (fair trading act) ASA (Adverting Standard Authority) . On the website they are saying that the Twirling Toadstool is undergoing TLC. The recent posted pic say's otherwise. I leave it there...

Give Citizens Advice a call, they'll pass it on to Trading Standards who will take no notice!

:)

What IS the definition of TLC though? For all intents and purposes taking it apart is technically maintenance work so would be hard pushed to get TSA involved (also it's kinda really going over the top on it)...

As much as I despise the fact that it's closed, there are so many reasons why the website cannot be deemed misleading. Even if you overlook the text plastered across it telling you that it's closed, all rides and attractions are always "subject availability".

As for it never appearing ever again, we've only really seen pictures of the rotting fibre glass theming have we not? Not sure these pictures indicate it won't be reopening, just that it won't be reopening themed as a Toadstool.

Obviously it’s not out of action because of TLC but I wouldn’t get too hung-up over those pictures and whether it will return. The paints faded but so long as the structure is sound then all it needs is a scene painter or two to get the paint back to scratch.

Ripsaw and Submission left the park pretty quick when they decided to remove them. The fact it’s still on premises suggets either it is coming back or they haven’t decided yet.

Exactly! How do we know that they haven't ordered new fibreglass theming in order to get the ride back up and running?

A facetious man might suggest you have as much chance of riding Toadstool this season as a number of other headline rides.

Haha, that was my loaded comment on the Alton Towers FB page. Was expecting the usual reply from towers social media but I happen to know a little more thought was put into this reply. ;) ;) I was stitched up! :) :)
