Busch Gardens Tampa: General Discussion

^Supposedly it's because (whilst it would be safe), having only a lap bar in the 3rd car of the train (most of these Sky Rocket II rides have 2 cars) may present a wiplash risk on the vertical twisted drop simply because the 3rd car takes the element much more rapidly than was originally designed for the 2 cars. The comfort collars restrict upper body movement, making violent upper body motion less likely.

The idea of having to watch a 12 minute video to see that there is track on site, urgh. Bring back photo updates!!

Never fear!

Busch have apparently been filing trademarks for RMCGwazi's new name. Safe to say they appear to have hit an imagination block...

The potential to be the world's greatest roller coaster and they come out with Fucking Turbo Gwazi.... christ alive.

Jesus Christ and I thought Smiler was a terrible name. I'm convinced they're fake though, Most of Busch's current coasters have really cool creative names.

At busch today and honesty really disappointed with the park not for rides as those are amazing but oppperations are truly dire. Montu and cheetah hunt have been down nearly all day, shikra is running only 1 station with over an hour wait and oops just don't look bothered. I was broken down on cheetah and there was no effort to get water to us or compensate us whilst we were sat out in 30 deg heat. Loads of schools here today and there is so much que jumping going on.

It's surprising as I have got so used to the friendly enthusiastic staff at Disney and at least some what energetic universal opps as well as brilliant ride oppperations and avalibility at both . It feels like I'm back in a Merlin run park

updated: about 5pm the kids left and the day got much better 10 min q on most rides

I been to Busch gardens twice and never again during the summer months. With the thunderstorms season it’s hard to plan which day to go and on our last visit the park was open 10am to 6pm Went to lunch at 1 then it tipped it down for about half hour but as the storms were still within 5 miles of the park every ride was closed. They didn’t reopen to around half 4. With a 90 min drive it’s a waste of a day if the weather bad.

Never had a bad day at Busch and it's always peak summer when we go. Quick queue unlimited and all day dining for us every time and we're there from the park opens until it closes. Last time we did Montu 6 times without getting off just before the park closed. There was only a handful of people queuing every time we got back into the station and the staff had no issue letting us stay on. Not sure if this is the norm but good times.

Last two times I've been there (2012 & 2018) they've always enforced this random rule of max 2 rerides without getting off. Seems strange considering the rest of the US seem far more lax but...

I would definitely do quick que next time due to the poor oppperations I experienced, b&m dispatches In the 4 minute range. There was no reason the ques should have been the length that they were.

Hi, I was there just over a week ago and couldn't agree more. Cheetah Hunt was down all day and the operations across the park really weren't great. It was also 32 degrees and the rapids were down all day and the log flume went down early on and failed to open again! I was fairly disappointed with my day there having looked forward to visting for so many years. I will be posting a full write up on my Orlando trip report thread in the coming days.
