Despite the government approval for as early as next week and the apparently mistake of adding it to their website - Movie Park Germany have said they are working towards reopening during the last week of May.

'marketing director Manuel Prossotowicz tells Looopings. "We are currently counting on the week before Pentecost, but we depend on the local authorities to monitor our measures," he says. "We also need face masks for employees."

Baden-Wurtemberg have placed theme parks in phase 4 of their reopening plans for "From Pfingsten/Pentecost". So presumably Europa Park and Tripsdrill can start to plan for around 30th May - 1st June period now to reopen.

I'd expect many parks in Germany how with dates from their states will start making announcements over the next couple of days.

EDIT: Also worth noting Baden have grouped swimming pools (with the exception of use for lessons) in phase 5 with mass gatherings. So Rulantica is potentially looking at closure until 31 August.

If the parks haven't opened yet then surely the reason for the delay is to allow training to take place

You didnt do your own house wiring and internet did you?

Have you checked your smart meter ?

This house was built just after the war. I'm pretty sure the wiring is made out of melted down UXBs left over from the Blitz. The minimal work I have done has been an improvement.

As for the idea that I would allow any device remotely classed as "smart" near my home....

So everyone is guessing what sunday briefing will hold, what the next move in softening stay at home will be.

I think this next stage is going to be the most challenging. If they stay at home message is going and you are going to be allowed out to do more things, when at the same time there will still be a large number of restrictions, then how do you even think about enforcing it? Or maybe it is not going to be enforced.

You see Germany lift a whole host of restrictions but they seem to have much more control over their epidemic than we do.

Well i have a mask ready to go.
However it only filters on the way in and expels my breath without filtering

Yeah although that might help keep you safer, it may not be permitted on public transport or some other places when face coverings get more of a recommendation. As the idea is meant to be to filter some of the droplets from the wearers breath, so masks with a valve are not helping stopping someone pass it to others.

(but you probably knew that).

I think Sunday will be a continuation of the lockdown for another 3 weeks but with some small changes...

Being able to go out more than once a day to exercise and being able to visit parks

Being allowed to sit outside to sunbathe, or have a picnic away from other people

Being able to see a loved one

Not sure if they will lift any restrictions on Mon essential travel though. Personally I wish they would get the dentist's sorted as I'm between treatments and none are open! Arrghh

I suspect one of the first priorities will be to get the currently furloughed staff back into work, at least the majority of them in some capacity.

Will be interesting to see what comes out, but I don't suspect anything too drastic to start with.

To do that though, those staff have to have a job to go back to - after all, most furloughed staff (aside from the odd company looking to save a quick buck) were furloughed because there isn’t work for them in the current situation, eg non-essential retail staff, attractions staff, hairdressers etc.

To start wrapping up the furlough scheme, non-essential business has to start being brought back online

Also many businesses that can open under the current rules such as takeaways have chosen to stay closed. Its going to be a while until many places open, even if they are told they can open, if they don't think they can operate and keep staff safe enough they won't.

Indeed. Our local chip shop tried operating with social distancing, it did not work, and they have been closed throughout the lockdown.

Hopefully for places that choose not to open (perhaps unable to implement social distancing rules) there will be the option to keep staff on the furlough money. We absolutely need to get people back to work gradually, to ensure that public transport services are not overwhelmed. If some businesses decide it's not worthwhile opening, perhaps we should encourage them to stay closed for a bit longer?

Well the current Furlough scheme runs until the end of June, so that's 7 weeks for some workplaces to start getting going again and that feels very possible for retail and takeaways to start getting going in. A lot of office workers will be able to work from home anyway so that is the main reduction on public transport journeys, particularly in London and similar.

The massive issue in London is that if people are working from home, they won't be using the shops near the office. There is little point of Pret, McDonalds, Greggs, Costa opening if there are no people locally to buy food from these places. But if it is a business decision (ie not profitable) rather than a social distancing issue I'm not sure whether the furlough scheme should still be paying out. The work from home for a majority of office workers will probably continue for most of 2020 and the effects will be felt for years and years.

I'm not sure if my work would be having me back straight away even with the lockdown being reduced/removed.

I was put on temporary leave the day of the furlough announcement because all my projects had dried up on site. So unless they reopen with intention of kicking off the non-essential works (they'd already cancelled a major long term one we'd started due to budget going) then I might still be at home.

Really isn't that simple in a few industries.

The Mirror has managed to get hold of the government's exit strategy, which will be enacted over 6 months. It is apparently as follows:
The Government's Exit Plan said:
BORIS JOHNSON'S FIVE-STAGE PLAN
1. From Monday

Unlimited exercise allowed. Employees to be encouraged to return to workplaces that have stayed open through- out the lockdown if safe. Garden centres could reopen while there may be more guidance on the use of outdoor spaces including open-air markets, high streets and cemeteries.

2. End of May/Start of June
Phased return of primary schools in England, starting with Year 6. Households could be allowed to expand “social bubble” to meet one other household of family or friends.

3. June (End)
Phased return of secondary schools in England before the summer holidays. Small team sports such as five-a-side football could be allowed, along with outdoor gatherings of fewer than 30 people. Cafes with outdoor seating could reopen while outdoor sports like golf, tennis and angling might resume. Possible return of Premier League matches, although behind closed doors.

4. End of August/Start of September
Pubs, bars and restaurants could gradually reopen although customers would be expected to follow strict social distancing rules.

5. October
Possible return of football fans to matches. Gyms could be allowed to re-open. But any further lifting of restrictions to get back to normal life would be in doubt amid fears of a second wave of coronavirus or an outbreak of seasonal flu.
