What changes to operations should we expect post Covid-19?

Considering how temperamental those lockers are I doubt they’d even contemplate making changes.

Although they were much more reliable last year than before. Much prefer the key and pay per open that the other three parks use. At least it won’t open someone else locker!

The problem with "key" lockers is the keys can be stolen. If it's only, say, £1 per use of the locker, that equates to £1 per "souvenir" for a chav in the form of a locker key.

If Towers then don't change the lock module of any stolen-key locker, but just replace the key, then the locker can be reopened in future with the stolen key. Add to that the temptation to some that the locker will contain some coins from that days usage... the original lockers to the left hand side of the Oblivion entrance back in 1998 were 20p a go & they suffered from stolen keys & vandalism to kick open doors to remove contents / the 20p's from the lock mechanism hopper.

The biggest problem with Universal and Disney having baggage holds in there stations or a baggage hold area is the amount of people who go on the ride. Also many of there rides have a different load/unload area so it would work.
I’m surprised that on every ride at Disney you take your bag on as I was surprised the 1st time I went on rock and roll coaster and I had to wrap my bag around my legs to make sure it didn’t fall out.

I get the vandalism point, but surely guests wouldn’t *need* 20p when they’ve just spent £50 to get into a theme park?

(Albeit saying that, there are 2 days of the season where I can imagine that probably would happen).

Could have a tag on each key and a detector at the entrance. If the key is taken out of the park an alarm would go off

The old days yes I could see some wanting a souvenir but it doesn’t seem much of an issue even at Thorpe - maybe the £2 is more a deterrent.

still time ;) all seriousness tho I did say if they did reopen it would be end of July/August time so I was close.
*cough*

As I mentioned before by the time tourism finally opens with social distancing in place. It will be going into September by which time children will be in school...

Anyone who thinks theme parks will open before late August must be crazy considering we will just possibly coming out of lockdown in June they will want atleast a few months to see how things are while easing lockdown.

:p:p:p

Ah yeah still close tho at that time no one kinda knew what was going on. But it was guaranteed the parks will be reopening there was no doubt about that.
Yeh tbf you weren't amongst those stating categorically that anyone expecting them to open before 2021, was delusional. Lol.

Remember folks, the theme parks definitely won't open this year :p
But, but we are deluded if we think the parks will reopen this year

Good news and a sensible timeframe. If people can cram into supermarkets then there's no reason open air theme parks should remain closed.

Well we literally need supermarkets for food to survive so, erm, weird comparison.

Seeing as government are making masks mandatory on public transport shortly could we see the parks make masks mandatory?
