Go on what? Merlin showed in a few videos them cleaning rides which would take enough time to be able to bring a guest to the platform via the exit.

Are you seriously trying to tell me you think they will spend longer cleaning each rattlesnake car between riders than it takes guests to disembark, walk all the way to the exit, and another group (quite possibly with limited mobility) walk all the way from the exit to the ride.

The throughout would be about 50pph. Just no.

I’m not saying it’s every single person who has rap but this applies to some. It just annoys certain people when they see some rap users act like this. We are still in the middle of a serious situation things was never going to be straight forward or back to normal. It’s literally 4 rides 2 of which are children’s rides it’s a nothing situation if it stays the same when the situation is over then it’s fine to get annoyed but now isn’t the time.

I think this just shows the general distrust in merlin that many rap users share that we are concerned they may try to limit rap more widely in the future

As I said wait till next season when more then likely the situation is all over and things are back to normal. I don’t get how you can judge a situation right now when nothing is going to be normal or straight forward on any of the parks.

They're a global corporation, they should know how to make their rides accesible by now. Stop making excuses for them.

I’ll never make any excuses for merlin I’m one of the ones who can’t stand what they become but that’s not on topic. I’m making the point of we are in a global pandemic situation things are not straight forward anywhere. No one knows what rides are open to rap in any other park except chessington right now. Let’s just see what happens come end of the season.

You do seem to be implying rap users are moaning over nothing and that Merlin's doing what they can

It will be interesting to see if any rides get RAP stopped at alton.

I said some not all, difference is as I said many times this season is a write off merlin will do anything that’s possible to open the parks. As I said many times it’s only 4 rides as some pointed out about rattlesnake how difficult it would be to do a turn around. If merlin really wanted to cut the rap they would of done it to more rides or stopped it.

Griffins is the most curious. Given that it's usually one man op anyway and little to no different from the other attractions that involve the disabled visitors coming up the exit.

Then again it never has a queue so would likely be just as quick for any RAP user to queue normally.

Rattlesnake is down to the lack of waiting area available. Without a massive cost they cannot transform the exit platform to suit during the pandemic. Though my thought would be to hold RAP users in the photo area (would be similar on Tomb Blaster) there wouldn't necessarily be enough space available without requiring at least one more staff member to attend the area.

Can't say much about the new ride. No idea what the RAP area looks like.

It's a conundrum. But I don't think this is evidence of Merlin plotting to remove the RAP in the long term.

In terms of someone mentioning about guests using the normal queue on some rides and a RAP queue on others. I direct them to Disneyland (which hopefully I will discover if they're system is any good later this year). As they have a similar issue of not being able to retrofit the classic rides to suit modern day requirements, yet everything new has accessible standard queues.

This wasn't aimed at me, but I'm saying yes. That's exactly what I think is happening.

They are trying to make running a theme park work in unprecedented and very difficult restrictions. What you are suggesting is nowhere near a reasonable adjustment.

I'm no defender of the mess that is Merlin, but they can only work with what they have, and they have some rides where reasonable adjustments can not be made to accommodate all.

As I keep saying it’s 4 rides not a whole park, I keep going back to my point how many people on this forum who have access to rap would actually go on river rafts for example. No one knows what rides are out of bounds for rap at any of the other parks yet. I don’t mind people getting angry about this next season but as I keep saying now isn’t the time I will never defend merlin but they are literally working with what they got.

This seems inevitable, something has to give. The Wicker Man & Smiler RAP queues during super-peak days are nuts.

This is the latest case where I find wheelchair users shoved to one side.

Shoved to one side, or unavoidably disadvantaged by circumstances beyond the control of anyone?

Really, what could they possibly do?

The alternative seems to be RAP users can't ride, so noone can. Just shut it for all, it's fair then isn't it? Silly.
