So Europa Park has announced its new world's first gastronomy concept: Eatrenalin. Directly beside YULLBE and Hotel Kronasar it will "combine top gastronomic performance with mutli-sensory attractions to create a top-class experience. In this restaurant, media technology, ride systems, culinary delights and creative content will come together in an unprecedented form to create a first class experience that takes you on an extraordinary journey for all your senses."

Thomas Mack says the aim is to reinvent gastronomy and touch the guests emotionally. It is time we took visitors on a futuristic journey into different worlds of pleasure, appealing to all their senses and astonishing them". It was developed together with Oliver Altherr, CEO of Marche International.

The concept will bring together: transport systems from Mack Rides, virtual media from Mack Animation and Mack NeXT as well as the gastronomic expertise of the two-star chef Peter Hagen-Wiest.
Opening is planned for Autumn 2021.

Wait what?! I want a go!

Not sure I understand what it is to be honest.

I’m thinking maybe it’s a bit ‘Heston Blumenthal’.

Will be hilarious if this is a VR restaurant.
Hoping maybe tables/booths are in like screen domes - so you can select an "experience" which plays around you, food is sent in by a transport system and matches the "experience" or something.
Phantasialand's Fantissima features show segments with projecting mapping on the tables - perhaps they will use something similar as well?

Maybe not and it is some VR or maybe a first foray into AR but any of sort of glasses on while dining sounds weird. Really don't know what to make of it.

I never thought I would hear (or read) anyone say that about Europa. Usually you lot defend Europa to the death.
I love Europa, but I don't take sides. I'll praise Merlin when they have a good idea and I'll call out Europa when they go off the rails.

That was the most non-sensical press release I've read in a while. Who knows, when we actually know what it is I might think it's a great idea. As long as it's not VR dinning, that could be a very messy experience.

Oh my days, this sounds both completely and utterly ridiculous and intriguing at the same time. I was joking with @AstroDan the other night about this on Discord saying it'll be VR and ride systems and it sounds like it's going to be the case now. I'm so, so confused!

transport systems from Mack Rides

If this doesn't feature a scale version of the monorail slowly trundling toward your table with a basket of breads onboard whilst Lingering Moments blasts out, I'm going to be INCREDIBLY disappointed.

What else could we have? Doing away with glasses as you sit on a Twist n Splash as gallons of wine is sprayed AT you? Tea on the tea cups? Oof the possibilities are endless!

touch the guests emotionally

Again, my disappointment will be immeasurable if this doesn't involve one of the Mack family clasping my hand bawling their eyes out while I'm chomping down on a steak and chips.

Definite buzzword bingo with that press release though, the detail on what it will actually entail will be interesting in the next few months!

I wish Europa would keep their focus on delivering quality offerings rather than gimmicks.

They deliver truly splendid experiences when they want to but, sadly, the latter are starting to become more and more common.

I'm not saying that the two are mutually exclusive, with Foodloop being a gimmick delivered with quality. This sounds overpriced and convoluted.

I think this far more than just VR.

Very interesting project which follows FoodLoop and Ammolite in food experiences.

I dread to think how much it'll cost. A remortgage is out of the question.

The secret is now out... trackless dark ride meets restaurant!

On November 21, 2020, an announcement was made via a post from an Instagram account called Eatrenalin. This introduced this mysterious project with a video presentation. Now it's time to learn more about the future of foodservice that will land in Rust in summer 2021.

Feel, listen, see, smell, taste.
This is what Eatrenalin promises, the new restaurant concept imagined by the Mack family. This new restaurant calls on several branches of the Mack family such as: Mack Rides, Mack Animation and MackNext. Thomas Mack, promises a unique concept in the world that will combine dark riding, projections and of course, food.

Roland Mack's second son collaborates with two-star chef Peter Hagen-Wiest for the development of the gastronomic part. Arrived in the entrance hall, the guests take their seats in chairs that will move from room to room using an innovative movement system created by the firm Mack Rides. Several universes will be presented such as an Asian market, a tropical forest, a circus or even totally imaginary places, all accompanied by an artificial intelligence that will guide and help the guests throughout the experience.

"The trip is not based on international cuisine or exotic places, but rather on a taste experience that unfolds according to the various situations and atmospheres."

This restaurant is the result of a collaboration between the Macks and Oliver Altherr, CEO of Marché International, which has 170 restaurants in Europe and Asia. The idea behind this concept is a response to the evolving demand of the event and catering industry. Even if similar projects have seen the light of day in Shanghai, Ibiza and soon in the EPCOT park of the Walt Disney World complex, Eatrenalin will stand out for its technological and innovative aspect.

"Eating is more and more linked to experiences"

The restaurant promises to teleport diners to places accessible only in dreams. The experience will adapt according to the seasons and locations. Indeed, the Macks don't plan to stop at Rust alone, they plan to implement franchises around the globe. Currently two Eatrenalin branded restaurant projects are under development in New York and Tokyo.
