American Adventure Park

I would guess Pioneer Playland judging by the style and fact it seems in fairly good condition?..

Don’t quote me on that though.

Nah, he was sat on a bench outside the Davy Crockett shop in the Alamo area. No idea what he was meant to be holding, I can only remember him inexplicably playing the circle game.

Also no idea who would pay £800 for him.

Wow nice to see some merchandise appear on eBay however its vastly overpriced.

Wonder what he was holding? possibly a fishing pole? which would of worked if he was originally in Pioneer Playland when it had the boat ride at the end where which later became motion master

@Rick I have been on that Miniature Rio Grande Train. Following the closure of The American Adventure the Rio Grande Train was bought by Flambards in Cornwall. At Flambards the ride was re-themed and renamed to the Cornish Mine Train. As the Cornish Mine Train the locomotive passed through an artificial tunnel, with a statue of a miner and chislle in it. The Cornish Mine Train was introduced to Flambards in 2009/10 and removed by 2011. In addition to the Rio Grande Train American Adventure's Carousel,Rockin Tug and self driven Space Shuttle Drop Tower ended up operating at Flambards. Too date all of the other relocated American Adventure rides continue to operate within Flambards.

Ended up at Flamingo Land didn’t it?
It did indeed, they actually did a pretty good job presenting it. They also bought the indoor Dodgems from Space Port and the Mini Mine Train too. Maybe some other bits as well, time flies.

Previously unseen Britannia Park views hidden away in this listing:
Britannia Park Pre American Adventure Theme Park Very Rare Pictures Bag Badge | eBay

Some of the shots have snow which means they were probably taken after the park had closed, probably winter 85/86.

One of the shots shows an embankment for fishermen which I have no memory of so much have been re-landscaped early on in Park Hall's ownership.

I have fond memories of the playground ('Fort Junior' according to the 1987 map) but I had no idea it was installed for Britannia Park.

I hope a generous soul with a nice scanner gets it.

I not sure if my memory is playing tricks on me or was there a krypton factor course at the park? I have recollection of it being out of the way but can't remember it being open though I am sure I use to see the signs when I went.

Yeah there was some filming for part of The Krypton Factor carried out at the park I believe.

Not sure if its name made its way into an actual attraction/assault course though...

It was never filmed there to my knowledge (I'd be happy to be proven wrong though), but there was apparently for a short period a Krypton Factor branded assault course, using the strip of land between The Buffalo and Space Port.

It must have been a very short period though, because I've never seen a map nor any photographs/video.

I couldn't remember where it was I just have vague memories of the sign near the embankment for the train. I think it pointed through a bridge underneath though never saw it open. I agree it must have only been one session it was there as don't remember seeing any info on it

I remember the sign but not the course. I thought it was the kid's version that was filmed there, rather than the main one.

That would make sense as the park was owned by Granada and ties in with when I first starting going. It would be interesting to know if it was ever meant to become an attraction or they just used the space they owned.

Ah what a beauty. Yes that is definitely The American Adventure, El Paso Arena clear to be seen there.

Nit picking, but it was only part-owned at this point, it wasn't until the very end of 88 that Granada bought out Park Hall Leisure outright.
