General Queue Times Discussion

Urgh how annoying, hope they get that fixed for tomorrow! Are the signs around the park working?

It doesn't feel any busier than yesterday, no. The queue lengths are roughly the same, as are visible crowd levels. The queue boards are working fine. I know we used to survive without apps and queue boards back in the day anyway, but they could've replaced adverts with just queue times on the few screens they have. There's groups of people waiting around these screens for a quick glimpse (the times come and go very quickly) and they're mostly seeing adverts for fast track, events and Coca Cola.

How long does it take to fix an app? Should be a priority really
depends how much Merlin want to pay for a back end developer on a Saturday I guess, although looking at the app right now, not enough!

Does anyone know why CRR only ever seems to open at 11

Could've just kept ride times aswell as putting queues on the app. Proffered ride times anyway wish that came back

thirteen has a 50 Minute queue currently and shows 'queue at capacity'! is this a new thing????
When I rode Thirteen just after it opened (late, mind) last sunday, a member of my group who didn't ride told us that just after we entered the queue the entrance was blocked off as it was "at capacity", Pretty sure the wait time was less than 50 mins though.
(was 30 when we joined the queue)

Unlike yesterday however, it does not look like the park has emptied out. Still must be a good hour plus for GG

There’s been quite a few negative posts about today on Alton Towers’ Twitter feed. You can’t blame the people who’ve posted to be honest - there are reports from people doing 1 ride in 4 hours and others are moaning about rides being down. I know it’s annoying when that happens but people need to remember that most rides are complex pieces of engineering that need regular maintenance, and no chances can ever be taken.

I don't think it's fair to those paying to be there today to say "oh well, these things happen".

By the sounds of it the park is offering a very sub-par experience today

I think the park need to come up with a plan B if multiple rides go down for a lengthy time on a busy day but I'm not sure what they could do?

Rides go down, so I think it is fair to say it is what it is. These things happen and there's nothing towers can do about it unfortunately. Yes wicker man being down for the day has certainly happened at an awkward time, but what can be done. As said they won't take any chances and will spend as much time doing maintenance as they need in order for it to be 100% safe. As for the crowds and queues, if anyone there today didn't expect it to be busy on a beautiful Bank holiday, they must be insane

They can't reduce the price of tickets unless they know in advance that rides will be done. If a problem just so happens to occur on that day, its too late
