Big Blue won’t let you park the second day without a second nights stay. So if going to the park the night after the hotel you need to move the car before going into the park or leave the park to move the car before noon. they really should have designed the hotels with underground parking or something. The 12-12 thing really doesn’t work for one night stays.
free on street parking though!
Street parking isn't really convenient when you are stopping in the hotel though, and you can't always get very close. Suppose that's why they get away with £15 parking charge, but it's a bit annoying when the hotel is already quite expensive.

it’s not the charge that bothers me, it’s the 12-12 issue. So you have to move the car before entering the park.

Last trip there was no spaces in the Big Blue car park anyway so we chose to park on the street, it was only a five minute walk really. Saved money and we would of had to move the car in the morning anyway.

It's all pretty rubbish from a 4 star hotel though. Parking should be included if available.

Having to move your car in the morning is ridiculous.

But wouldn’t the people staying in your room need the space as if you are at the park until close it would be after check in? Maybe on a quiet day it would be alright but could cause hassle if there is late bookings or one rule or quiet days and another for busy?

Yes I suppose so, that's the problem with having more rooms than car parking spaces.

But they should definitely let you leave your car on quieter days if you are going into the park. It's something they used to do at the big blue before they started charging.

Walk on back seat in the dark on the Big One.
Pretty sure that was a first time ever.
Very quiet Beach this evening, tons of front and back seat walk ons.
Dental dramas aside ... This is a great example of why I think it's folly to use opening hours as a metric for value. If you can have 12 hours in the park with Snorecon on a 90 - 120 min wait, or spend 5 hours in an empty park, why wouldn't you take the latter.

I appreciate we'd all love 12 hours in a dead park, but that's not on the agenda, for reasons that are entirely obvious.

They designed and built the hotel and carparks knowing what they would be used for. This set up is shoddy.

The Big Blue really should have been built one floor higher to allow for ground floor parking.

But at the moment even some kind of system where you got a discount on another BPB car park, so you can park overnight at the hotel, check out and move it to theme park parking.
But the advice from staff to me was the on street parking is free so just move over the road!

It's almost like the people running the hotel don't realise between March to November the vast majority of guests are using the hotels to visit the Amusement park.
Not sure that's true tbh.

Paying for parking in any hotel is a real annoyance, but it's pretty much the norm now sadly. Even Village, miles from the prom, are charging.

I'm talking more about them not understanding people would be wanting a full day on the park even if staying for 1 night. So you either can't park up at the hotel if you want to go in on day 1, or on day 2 you'll have to drive out the car park before you can enter the park.

I'm saying I don't think it's true that the majority of hotel guests are there to visit the amusement park.

Every time I go (which admittedly is normally off peak) the hotels seem to be full of mostly middle-aged and older people, not quite the coach trip crowd but not far off it age-wise. Very much doubt they're in Blackpool for the Pleasure Beach (by and large!).

Awesome night, most rides walk on or 1-2 train wait. Coasters on one train but didn’t need to be any more, other than perhaps Icon. 9:30 close but noticed that Streak, Icon and Steeplechase were already shut at 9:10. Big One twice in the dark, queue not out of station. Woodies in the dark, brilliant.

If anyone is on the fence about these Friday evenings, go for it, you will get plenty of rides in. I’m sure we easily did as many rides in an hour as we did at Towers in 6 hours the other week. Nice saunter around the park, out for kebab, back in for twilight & dark rides. Plenty of rides and a few drink stops. Very chilled out.

Nickelodeon land seemed to shut at 9 this evening and Icon was having a few technical problems towards the end. But still had a fantastic evening today, lost count of the amount of rides we got on but was probably more than we did at towers over Wednesday and Thursday combined.

While it was still a great atmosphere this evening, the park takes on a whole new life at night, it is a bit of a shame to see the park so quiet for these Friday evenings though as it makes it less likely they will return in the future.

Went the first friday (switch on day) and again it was pretty quiet so was able to do all the rides I'd usually leave (flying machines, ghost train, river Caves, dodgems) if they have a queue.

I suppose the park can only decide if its a success (or not) by how busy being open during the normal opening hours these Fridays in previous years.

Looking forward to visiting again at the end of October for the last late night riding Saturday, and Journey to Hell the next day. Was a pain finding a B and B with availability for that weekend.

Nickland always closes before the rest of the park on evening openings, always has.
The Friday nights have (allegedly) been booked in again for next year.
The Fridays have happened so as not to compete against the fireworks championships on Saturdays up by the tower.
