Isn't there a sign outside the ticket office advising a gift shop is coming soon.

Makes sense now most people book online and wristbands don't seem to be returning its a waste of space.

Might even be able to sell some items to people who won't enter the park due to the entrance fee as well.

I heard it was going to be the new big ticket office for pay per ride.
Bringing back a,b,c and d tickets, Spring Saver ticket books, sheets of White Knuckle ( a&b only) and family ride sheets.
They are scrapping wristbands, and refunding season pass purchases as "Mandy Money", available on a souvenir card, to be used against Hot Ice purchases.
That's what shakey said Rick...

Whilst it makes business sense to have a shop that folks can enter without paying to get in the park, it’s also a bit annoying to have to exit the park to visit the shop, to go back in again. Also if you buy a lump of rusting metal, will you have to put it aside as you walk through the scanner to go back in?!

I guess there will still be a ticket office, just a smaller one? Not everyone books in advance online. On busy days there’s still a bunch of people milling about in the ticket centre. And we’re still waiting for the fabled heritage centre that they used to say would go under Noah’s Ark.

So when do you think the log flume in a shed will reopen? Surely the Kiss Me Quick shop won’t become entirely full of just Valhalla merch?

I imagine the central round information desk in the casino building will become the ticket office, there are spaces for four tills in there.
Used to be used for season passes.

If this really is just another shop, I really struggle to see the point of it.

- do they really need more retail space, do they actually have that much more merch to sell?

- are people going to go into another building to shop after they’ve effectively already left the park?

- wasn’t downstairs in Loki’s supposed to be the new Valhalla shop since it’s at the ride exit, rather than 50 yards away?

I’m not on top of the detail, but there’s a lot that doesn’t make sense for this to just be another shop. That might just be because it’s Pleasure Beach or could it actually be something different? The much trailed heritage museum, perhaps?

Very wet slippy floor, and not much saleswise after the first few years...simply not worth staffing except on peak days, so it went.
I think the new shop will be designed for passersby on the promside of the entrance as much as for park punters.

It’s probably that they will still sell tickets inside the shop for those who haven’t bought online. Most cinemas sell tickets from the popcorn counter now (or machines/online) instead of having separate box office.

Now there are no non rider passes, many parents loiter for collection in the seafront arcade and the two cafes in the casino building entrance, there are also the theatre, Globe shows, Horror Bar and Passage del Terror.
Lots of footfall and passing trade.

Yep , lots of passing trade and an amusement park with its doors firmly closed to everyone that hasn't pre-booked online. Or it may aswell be that way with the price they charge on the day.

Makes sense for the park to run it, plenty of parks in the USA run their own fan events (plus hosting coaster clubs) so never understood why UK parks hadn't tried it themselves.

Though when I saw the #PBFC hashtag my first thought was they were setting up a football team.

Arguably it's a return to 235 Club / Club Pleasure Beach, although that was more of a club that was endorsed by the park, run by fans on their behalf - which worked quite nice in some ways.

It's a nice little earner for the park, that's for sure.

I wouldn't mind a look under Derby Racer but it's not worth £25 for the privilege.

And not really sure why you would want to walk round Wallace and gromit ?

Watched Landscape Artist Of The Year on Sky Arts tonight and they were painting the Pleasure Beach from the prom.

Quite jealous at the end as they announced the winner in a part of the Casino Building I didn't recognise.

Should've asked them if they could've given ocean boulevard a bit of a paint before they left as well really.

Think that was the paradise room wasn't it?
Used to go in for the model shows.
Wouldn't call any of the paintings particularly good.

With the rumours of the Globe tent going, could I be the first to scream...
THEY MIGHT BRING THE REEL BACK!
I won't be holding my breath, but it might stop the tears.
