Not sure if this has been mentioned (huge apologies if so!), but it looks like the station track has now been painted the new black colour, this was viewed from Galactica the weekend just gone.

Wasn't the station and transfer track always painted black though? Not sure if this has been mentioned (huge apologies if so!), but it looks like the station track has now been painted the new black colour, this was viewed from Galactica the weekend just gone.

Link timestamped.. Hard to tell the station track was always painted black or if it was just absolutely filthy. God I miss that sound as it goes back into the station

Im not sure, I only ever get on it once a year so my memory is a bit hazy on details like that. I always assumed it was white

There was a reddish/brown paint effect applied to the spine of the track in the station as seen in these photos from ATA:

Now the remaining transfer track had been partially shot blasted as shown in TT's update a month ago:

So unless the transfer track has been painted, I don't think you could realistically tell from Galactica that painting has been done inside the station, especially with it being so dark. I'd also be surprised if painting had been done with the amount of dust surrounding the site at present.
In terms of the crane, there's an enlarged dedicated pad for it on the edge of Forbidden Valley. The crane has popped up on and off for some time now as track/support removal progressed. The same area was also used for repairs to be carried out when the ride was operating.

Edit: As luck would have it, just as I posted this I hop onto Facebook and see an update from ThemeParkGuide - nope, no painting done, just the old track colour still:

Despite this, some painting seems to have been done. The track definitely looks black just leading out of the station.
EDIT: This post is incorrect.

Christ we're not getting into another colour discussion are we?Despite this, some painting seems to have been done. The track definitely looks black just leading out of the station.

If you watch the POV above you can see the colour change on the track as the train heads out. It's not just a shadow either, as shown in ATA's pictures in my first post too

If that were freshly painted in your photo, I'd be hiring some new painters!

Christ we're not getting into another colour discussion are we?. You can see from Attraction Source's POV that the track/station was a very brown colour:

My mistake all, my eyes must've been playing tricks on me
With the construction walls pushed back, surely there’s slightly less of a point in having the viewing platform especially where it currently is?
There are also a few decently sized glory holes around some of the fencing I noticed on my day there yesterday. I was dead set against the idea of there being a viewing platform, but on further thought I can see it being a possibility. Maybe some theatrics tied in later in the season.. escorted up to it by the phalanx actors, slap a few more wrist bands on people etc. Who knows.

Or maybe the viewing platform is only for those of us lucky enough to have wristbands already?!There are also a few decently sized glory holes around some of the fencing I noticed on my day there yesterday. It's a mobile tower crane, they'll just drop it down when it's not needed for a few days, I'm sure it's parked in that exact spot but just folded up on multiple tpww videos.

Look at the Nemesis eye in the photo staring at the man in the orange jacket...almost like Nemesis is saying "don't think of trapping me in new steel again after I just got freed!"
Also I didn't realise how small Nemesis' claws are compared to the larger ones we've seen since then...that could see a change yet to come?
