The floorless version has the benefit of being more marketable, which may be reason enough to go for it over the classic.

To be fair I'd just go with the same Ripsaw that floorless one has a row facing backwards? Don't see the point in that.

The floorless model feels markedly different to the OG Top Spin, the motion of the spinning is much more fluid. It's also the primary model Huss manufacture now.

Talocan is easily the most intense flat ride I've ridden at any mainstream park and the visual element of it is as much of an attraction as the ride itself. This was true of Ripsaw in it's early years, I think it could be true of a new version.

Three or four new flats on the horizon sounds promising, if true. It's interesting to see people calling for the appearance of reliable classics; a Top Spin, a Breakdance, etc. Does this demonstrate just how solid these rides are, or just how low expectations of Alton Towers have gotten?

It could be spun as a more “extreme”, or “new and improved” Ripsaw than the old version, maybe even with a name to reflect that. I don’t know I’m not a marketing expert but I’m sure there’s some spin you could take from it over and above the original.

Thanks for that. Would be interesting if what was actually said was that they were being "replaced with permanent rides" or something similar. That could mean being replaced by Nemesis in 2024, Horizon in 2025....etc.

According to the Huss website, the Classic takes a footprint of 22x11.5m with a height of 16.5m, whereas the Suspended takes 22x9m with a height of 13.5m. So in terms of actual ride height it’s actually shorter!

In practice however there would be a bit of extra height required above that (unless you dug down a bit) as the suspended requires a retractable floor due to loading from the ground as opposed to the integrated platform and stairs up on the Classic, but you’d have 3 metres to play with before reaching the Classic height so that should be fine.

He might mean passenger height, which is 1.37-1.95 meters for both.

Huss recently launched some new models/ versions of older rides, most fall under the family/thrill which along with a top spin for for FV would make good options for x-sector so they could have done a 3 ride deal with Huss. All the new models would fit Alton’s height restrictions and all offer good Theoretical capacity. The new models are

Booster Revolution (thrill) 1.37m height restriction 1200 pph
Breakdance 5 1.2m height restriction 1200pph
Spinning Cruiser 1.2 height restriction & 1440pph
Magic 2G 1.2 height restriction & 1440pph
Troika 2G 1.2 height restriction and 1260pph

however I can just as easily see them taking the cheaper option with a budget manufacture.

Would love to see a top spin again. When FV consisted of its current 4 rides and Ripsaw, Ripsaw was my favourite ride in the area. Used to absolutely love it so would love to see a new one!

If it did return and if they brought the fountains back (lets face it, I think that was the draw for the spectators) there is no excuse not to have them red!

I had the same question, and this is the response I got!

I think the thing with this is that there is a difference in it being said that all three Retrosquad rides will be replaced and that replacements have already been purchased. I have no doubts that Towers have been looking in to options for new flat rides, and it is entirely possible that at least one has been purchased, especially if the plan is for one to arrive in 2025.

I would be hesitant in saying that all three have already been purchased.

I think it proves how marketable the ride would be though. It's an easy win for Towers.

Let's say tey have a deal with Huss for the three flats what other rides would people like to see? I've already said a Breakdance 5 for X Sector but I think something family friendly for Dark forest would be great though I'm not sure what would be best for that site.

I wish when doing such things people would just say it’s fan art. Instead they leave it cryptic and hope it triggers needless rumours and clicks for their page. Nothing wrong with fan art, I enjoy seeing it. But I also like it to be labelled as so.

Not like content creators to create click bait I do agree though it's quite annoying when people make it seem like they have official information when they don't. That's why I don't watch Lift hills and thrills because he's always talking about rumours and speculation

I think talking about rumours and speculation is fine as long as the speaker states that they are just rumours and speculation. The problem comes when the speaker passes off rumours as official confirmation of something happening. So far, LH&T hasn't done that to my knowledge; in the video I linked to yesterday he was definitely stating things were just rumours - except the bit about purchasing the 3 flat rides.
