I mean the Europa League win was a huge bandage on a season where they finished 17th.

Not saying he's an amazing manager or anything, but they did genuinely get hit hard with injuries this season and then eventually they disregarded the league to concentrate on the Europa so their league position suffered AGAIN because of that. I would have given him another season to see how it went. Looks like the players were putting in a shift for him whenever I saw them play. He's a bit gung-ho with his tactics sometimes but I'd rather that than the new boring way of everyone just passing sideways and backwards for 87 minutes.
They did get hit hard with injuries, but was it due to the way they play? Making Van der Ven almost solely responsible for a third of the pitch with calf-popping sprints is why his calf muscles pop every time he plays 7 games in a row.
It’s naive, unsustainable football. A rare good decision from Levy, I think. Hard to swallow for me as a rival fan.

If that is the case then maybe him and his coaching team could have learned from that and tweaked things. I think he may have been guilty of rushing a couple back from injury, which again is something that they likely would keep in mind going into next season. They managed to finish 5th last season without so many injuries too. No chance to find out now, anyhow. Doesn't mean anything to me anyway, I'm a West Brom fan.

It's an interesting case study.
When he first came In, he was a bread if fresh air. Fast paced attacking football. It wasn't a style that is sustainable. The amount of injuries they had this year, must have been down to that style.
He also, never had a plan B. Just, do Plan A better. Even when they had no defence, just play high. No, sit back help each other. Play high and intensely. That can work at Celtic. In the PL, you will get found out. I go back to what Slot was saying at the start of the season "you can rest during a game." In other words. Keep the ball. Spurs, couldn't do that under Ange.
We also have a Ten Hag factor. We all know, the great sir Jim absolutely bottled the biggest decision of his time at united. Not only did he do that, gave him a nice pay rise, found some spare change behind the sofa and made a cleaner redundant and backed him in the transfer market. Only to realise that he still wasn't any good as a manager. Daniel Levy has his floors, unlike sir Jim, he isn't scared of making the big calls.
Spurs now need a manager that can handle weekend-midweek schedule, keep his players fit and get the side into the CL again next year. The back up plan of Europa, will.not be available now.

If any of the bottom 3 sides had put together a bit of a run and looked even slightly capable of escaping relegation, I think Ange would have been binned months ago. Especially with Everton and Wolves easing clear with their new managers.
Could be a worrying season for Brentford without Mbuemo and Thomas Frank, though.

Probably some similarities when Bielsa's Leeds fell off a cliff with injuries and the tactics being worked out. That Chelsea Spurs game last season should've made clear the warning signs about his lack of flexibility in that regard.
Can play that way in Scottish league but no chance in one that has some actual competition.
